My Experience with Christian Louboutin Silky Satin Lipstick Let Me Tell You, Miss Clichy Review, Swatch, FOTD

Today I am reviewing two more lipsticks from My Christian Louboutin lipsticks collection. These are Silky Stain Lip Colors. I have reviewed the velvet mattes from the range HERE

The two shades I have are
Let Me Tell you 220 : a beautiful warm rose pink with yellow undertones with golden micro shimmers in it. The shimmers are extremely fine and barely show on lips. They don’t feel gritty at all.  It’s a very soft color and makes for a great everyday kind of a shade. On me personally, I don’t find it too flattering. I feel it is missing that oomph that could have made this lip color a little more distinctive. The yellow undertones of this shade do nothing for my complexion. I find it a very boring shade.
Miss Clichy 320 : a soft berry wine shade that is perfect for the upcoming winter season. I absolutely love this shade. It is not so deep that you have to reserve it only for the evenings. You can totally wear this shade during day time as well.

The packaging of Christian Louboutin Lipsticks need a full detailed paragraph on its own. 😛
“The SA at the counter said that these are all hand made and it takes quite a while to make each case. The silky satin lip colors come packed in these gorgeous black boxes with velvet red interiors. Since these are satin finish lipsticks, the cases have a shiny gold finish to them. They also come with these ribbons so that you can use these lipsticks as necklaces. Well! I would never do that but there is an option. The cover of the lipstick almost looks like a crown. It is coloured in signature louboutin red from the inside. They also come with little net covers that you can use while carrying the lipstick. That would prevent the lipstick from getting scratches. As much as I LOVE the packaging, I don’t like that these can’t stand on their own. I mean they are difficult to store and with the weight they are not the best to carry around as well. But they are sooo stunning, you do want to carry them around with you all the times and flaunt them.”

The formula of the silky satin lip colors is creamy gel like. They glide on lips like a dream and feel very moisturising. I feel a bit of plumpness on my lips when I use them. They have a slight stickiness to them. I keep pressing my lips for the fun of it. 😛 They have a mild rosy fragrance and taste to them. I don’t mind it but it is something to be considered. They have a soft glossy sheen to them that gives a little healthy look to the lips. Out of the two shades, I have been reaching out for Miss Clichy a lot. Call it a change in weather but totally enjoying using the lovely berry shade. The saying power of Let Me Tell You is around 3.5 hours on me. It transfers a bit. And it does not leave any distinctive stain behind. Miss Clichy stays on for good 4-4.5 hours on me and leaves a lovely berry stain behind. Both the lipsticks smudge a bit esp on my lower lip and definitely need a lip pencil to keep things in place. They also transfer a bit but nothing crazy. Both the lipsticks are pretty pigmented. I’d say a single swipe gives a good 80% coverage and you can totally build these up and they won’t look cakey on lips. Because of their moisturizing properties they are really good for the upcoming drier season. They don’t settle in fine lines but if you have dry patches these lipsticks would accentuate them. These are also free of parabens, mineral oils and lots of other nasty stuff. They surely come across as lipsticks made with love and thoughtfulness. 🙂
Overall, I personally like the velvet matte formula of Louboutin lipsticks more. But as the weather is changing I am definitely going to mix and match these with my drier lipsticks. I would recommend a shade or a two from the range for sure as a treat but I did not find these exceptional. With Velvet formula I was blown away by the feel and long staying power of those. These came across as average creamy / glossy lipsticks. But if you are not a fan of matte lipsticks and still want to have a Louboutin beauty in your collection, definitley check these out. You won’t be disappointed for sure. 🙂
