Packaging:
This came in a typical Clinique box packaging which I lost. The product is like a thick crayon and works on a twist up mechanism. The quality is good and there hasn’t been any problem with retraction of bullet. The silver cap and base make it look cute.
My experience with Clinique Chunkiest Chili Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm:
This is again one of my winter staples. I like the way Clinique named them. Let me introduce it to you.
Shade: It is a red maroon with berry undertones. A lot of shimmer is visible on the bullet but don’t let it make you reject this beauty. The shimmer in fact is very subtle and makes the color come alive instead of falling flat as an ordinary lippy.
Texture is very creamy. And since it is a modified version of lip balm, there is no pulling or tugging during application. Like all Clinique lippies, this one feels feather light on lips.
Coverage is moderate to full depending on pigmentation of lips. Does not settle in lines. It did not bleed at all.
Pigmentation: One swipe deposits about 60% of the color so it can be build up more according to mood or occasion. Since it doesn’t get cakey on multiple swipes, I’d say it is very comfortable to build it up and wear for an evening out. It settles into somewhere between glossy and cream finish.
Staying power: It stayed fresh for 3- 4 hours with light snacking in between and didn’t require any touch ups. After a heavy meal however it fades quiet considerably. But the best part is that after fading there is no ‘glitter show’ on the lips, all that is left is very mild stain.
This is a color which will suit all skin tones. It is a toned down version of red color that is quiet easy to pull off. The lip color is very moisturizing and has been my go-to product during harsh winters and it has not disappointed me even once. For a party, I just applied this and topped it off with a gloss for added shine and I was good to go. Since this color is a bit on red maroon side, this is a huge savior when you have very dry lips and need to apply a darker lippy for an outing. All in all, it is one of my favorites.
