Last week after watching like 15-20 videos on how to make instant smoky eyes I thought how very simple is that and I can easily master it. Little did I know what was in store for me. I tried doing a nice smoky eye and you would not believe it that I ended up looking like I had real hard blows on my eyes. Boxing champion huh. Oh god my three year old daughter seemed a little scared and my husband thought I would make a perfect ghost by just adding a white saree to it. I was the center of a joke it seemed. Never mind, it at least got a smile to his face. One day, don’t know when, but one day I will master it. Today I have got yet another eye shadow from coastal scents, Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Pot – Antique Maroon.

This eye shadow comes in a 1 inch metal pan, 2.5 cm in diameter packed in a re-openable hard plastic case.

Claims:

A rustic, brownish red hue with a satiny finish. A 1-inch metal pan that contains a highly pigmented eye shadow for multiple applications. My Experience with Coastal Scents Hot Pot Antique Maroon:

Antique Maroon is a rustic brown shade again with silver undertones. Although when you see the shade it seems to have shimmer particle but the shade is not shimmery. Actually due to its silver undertones it seems like that. The shade has a very soft texture and smooth finishing to it. As the company claims this shade has a satin finishing touch to it. As you can see from swatches the color looks pretty even if a single swipe is applied. It can also be built up to a darker hue with multiple swipes. Although the shade looks darker in the pan it looks much lighter when applied. The pigmentation is not that great. But it’s blendable and looks pretty on the crease.

The eye shadow stays on my eyelids for around 4 hours without the primer. The eye shadow is not at all chalky and has a satin smooth finishing to it. Also it does not seem to crease on oily lids. When applied on dark skin it does not show its true color and only silverish tint is seen. Although I love this shade I wish it had better pigmentation and staying power.

Would I recommend Coastal Scents Hot Pot Antique Maroon?

Yes. Since these are not very expensive one can definitely try this shade. This shade is really good to blend and mix on the crease.

Would I repurchase Coastal Scents Hot Pot Antique Maroon?

Not in the immediate future as this will go for a long time.
