Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème Deep Rouge Review

I was not somebody who was unknown to the concept of lip crèmes; however I never had any of them. As I am so much attracted with the idea of lip crèmes, I have now started a journey to have as many of them as I can. I have already bought a Makeup Revolution lip crème and an Essence Matte Effect Lip gloss. Okay now let’s start the Colorbar Deep matte lip crème review.

My Take on Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème Deep Rouge:

Packaging: The initial packing of the product is a metallic steel colored cardboard box, with all the necessary details printed in black over it. The lip crème comes in a fat, transparent cylindrical tube, which is narrowed towards the bottom. The new shape looks very nice. It has that steel colored cap, to which the applicator wand is attached. The applicator is quite big and Popsicle shaped, which pick sufficient amount of gloss form both of its sides to complete the entire lips nicely at once. There is a color coded sticker at the box which also bears the shade name and number, and one can find the shade name at the bottom of the tube too.

Shade: Deep Rouge is a warm toned pink color, with strong peachy undertones to it. True to its name, it’s surely a nice rouge color. I think this is a perfect peach lip color for almost every Indian skin tone. Especially, fair to medium skin tones will rock this shade. This is such a perfect shade to wear daily for office and colleges and best to be teamed with smoky eyes.

Texture and Finish: As the name says crème, so this one has a nice creamy thick consistency to it which feels kind of lightweight cream/whipped cream. The thick consistency here doesn’t mean that the crème feels heavy or sticky; rather it feels super light weight on lips. On application the texture feels very smooth, velvety and soft. It applies evenly and effortlessly on lips. The lip crème has a partial matte formula; it doesn’t set down to complete matte lip color. The formula is extremely hydrating; despite of the matte finish and lightweight feel. There has been no compromise with the hydration.

This is such an apt matte lip crème for dry lips. The finish is creamy matte on lips. Sometimes I noticed that whenever I apply the lip crème, it starts forming lumps or the cream gets accumulated on the side corners of lips. It feels extremely uncomfortable and I have to wipe it from that area. This may be happening because I accidently put lot of crème to the corners. Well I do notice a fuller and plump effect on my lips and for that it doesn’t cause me any discomfort. The lip crème doesn’t emphasize flaky lips. The lip crème doesn’t have the tendency to bleed or melt out from lip lines.

Pigmentation: The lip crème acquires awesome pigmentation and the color payoff in one swipe is great. It gives sufficient amount of color with one swipe and covers all the flaws and imperfections very well. One swipe is enough to get an opaque layer color on lips, though one can layer it on for more intensity and color. No doubt the lip crème is very pigmented and opaque, but for lip crèmes I won’t say any of them goes super opaque.

Staying Power: The lip crème lasted on me for 3 hours with mild snacking and eating and then it leaves behind a nice pink tint, which looks absolutely stunning. The lip crème easily transfers to cutlery and hence eating will make the color wear off easily. I have also tried it without eating anything in between and then it gave me a wear time of 5 hours. After that, the color from the inner lips starts fading away.

• The applicator picks sufficient amount of gloss to complete both the lips nicely at once.
• Superbly pigmented. Covers all imperfections in one swipe.
• Super light weight and hydrating formula.
• Well built packaging.
• Nice creamy matte texture.
• The crème doesn’t bleed at all.
• Doesn’t exaggerate dry lips, though exfoliation is suggested for smooth application.
• Staying power is quite decent for a lip cream.
• Makes lip look fuller, without any sort of discomfort.
• Can be removed easily with any oil based cleanser.
• Can be used as a blush too.

Cons of Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème Deep Rouge:

• The mousse texture of the lip crème sometimes forms lumps of cream on the side edges of lips, which feels very uncomfortable.
• Transfers easily onto anything.
• Being a lip cream, it doesn’t survive eating.
• But doesn’t stay as long as the brand claims.
• Some may find it pricey and me too.
