Three days ago, I happened to visit a Colorbar counter here in Pune at Dorabjees since Chennai is not so great when it comes to Colorbar stuff. I really couldn’t see myself picking up more “Velvet Matte” lipsticks because I know how ridiculous they are (I never forget to mention this in my Colorbar posts, so be it), but what I did remember to pick up were those famous I Glide pencils which I have heard so much of. I have heard of “Black Out” and “Prunella,” so much here on IMBB. Strangely enough, I do not own any Colorbar I Glide pencils. So, I had to choose between Flirty Turq and this one in navy blue called Electra, and blue is my first choice always
I was amazed at the quality of the pencil. One swipe felt like its almost a gel liner packed in a pencil. Then, when I happened to see the packing mention the same thing, I found it very clever. The packing says that this is almost like a liquid liner and it is waterproof, smudgeproof, and everything under the sun. Each and every word mentioned on the pack holds true about this pencil. We seldom see all claims fulfilled in real when it comes to makeup, but this one is bang on!
The colour is so pretty, it’s a deep navy blue which I think all of us have and wear with ease. Blue is my next favourite after black and I think we can wear more of blues than greens. Personally, greens make me look dull and blue on the contrary brightens up my face, so its my clear preference.
The texture is almost gel like. It glides on feather soft, very pigmented indeed, and very blue and thick. One swipe and your are done. The pack also says that you can smudge it immediately after application and so I have shown how it would look when it is smudged next to the swatch of the pencil. The pencil itself is thick and creamy.
This pencils stays on for at last 5 hours on my oily lids. On the lower lash, it may leave some inky blue stains sometimes in humidity and in a “teary” situation, but otherwise, it does not budge. It is fantastic to own such an amazingly soft pencil.
My only problem is that when I remove it, leaves so much inky blue color around the eye that it may take a while to get it off. It only shows how pigmented this pencil is. Another tiny problem is that I don’t like the misshapen cap of the pencil.
Last Word on Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Electra:
Fantastic inky blue eye pencil and totally worth Rs. 399 in my opinion. Everyone who likes blue eye pencils that are long wearing without having to set the pencil with the powder, this one is for you.
