Colorbar Lip Pot 009 Pink Velvet Review and Swatches

Colorbar Lip Pot

I have been dying to get the Colorbar lip pot in the shade ‘Pink Velvet’ as soon as I saw the post on the newly-launched lip pots by this brand on IMBB. Whenever I think and make a resolution of not buying any more lip products, only then these brands and Rati’s IMBB tempt me enough to lose some amount from my pocket. :P

So, here’s my review on this shade and on the product. I have used it just once and I am so much impressed by it that I just  could not wait any more for sharing this wonderful product’s review with you all.

According to the Company:

Pamper your lips with this deliciously syrupy lip color, cushiony and wet; it optically plumps your lips for a sexy plushy pout you’ll become addicted to! Surprisingly comfortable and emollient, it soothes your smile all day long. You’ve never felt color like this before, supremely sumptuous color for full, shapely lips that always look lush, plush and gorgeous. :mirror:

My Take on Colorbar Lip Pot #009 Pink Velvet:

I find much of the rosy description mentioned by the company on this product to be ‘up to the mark.’ It does pamper the lips providing a sexy plush color that lasts up to 7 hours for me. For me, this lip pot provides the color payoff of a lip tint and the shine of any good glossy lipstick.

The shade Pink Velvet is a gorgeous pink color with light mauve undertones. It is without doubt an unique shade in my lipstick collection and by far, my first ever lip pot, which I instantly have fallen in love with. It is super pigmented and comes off beautifully on the lips with a single stroke of your lip brush. Best part is the staying power. Even after having a full meal after applying it, the color remains very much there. Though the glossy effect stays on for 2 hours or so at a stretch, still later, it turns to leave a matte finish that stays on for you for another 4-5 hours without any touch-up. It does not transfer easily while coming in contact with other things.

So, at this price and the quantity offered, you are surely investing in a great non-transferable long-lasting lip color. :yahoo: :yahoo:

L-R: The shade with and without flash.

The lip color is quite creamy and moisturizing and I could actually feel a nice cooling sensation for some time after applying it. Actually, I attach this cooling sensation with the colorbar lipsticks too and even after 6-7 hours, it does not dry out the lips or settle in fine lines. So, you do not need to apply a lip balm prior to it or a lip gloss on top of it. It does all the 3 jobs of moisturizing, giving a lush color and a glossy finish all in one.

Pros of Colorbar Lip Pot #009 Pink Velvet:

• Creamy texture that gets applied easily.
• Provides enough comfort and moisturizing to the lips.
• Great staying power, easily up to 7 hours.
• Provides a glossy finish when applied and later turns to give a matte effect.
• Sustains color through light snacks and even full meals.
• Gives a high-pigmented opaque color after one swipe only.
• Does not bleed at all, so any need for a lip liner even does not arise.
• Cute pot packaging with an extra safety cover to avoid spillage.
• This is a pretty pink shade and lip pots are available in 5 other lovely shades that would suit all skin tones.
• Has a nice mild fragrance attached to it.
• Does not get easily transferred on to things when coming in contact.
• One has to use a lip brush to apply it and I find applying a lipstick with a brush as a better option to define and fill in the lips.

Cons of Colorbar Lip Pot #009 Pink Velvet:

Well, for me, it’s none except that a pot packaging asks for a need of a separate lip brush, which I think is everyone owns today.

The lip pot with my M&S lip brush, which gives a neat defined look.

Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase:

Just don’t sit there after reading this review, but go and buy one of these. You are surely going to fall in love with this product yourself. As for myself, I want to get the “Toffee Tango” shade next pretty soon. Now, just to give you an idea of the shade in different lights, I am attaching some pictures wearing Pink Velvet.
