By now you know how I got them, basically I got four of them, one more to go, which is a surprise… but this one is a universal soft pinky mauvy shade and I think will cut across all skin tones. Let see more..
Like I said, some of them are just like the old velvet matte lipstick, in a new pack, I agree the packahing is really nice but then these cost us 500 rupees for which I was really hoping some awesome formula on them, unfortunately I am disappointed. The lipstick badly remind me of the velvet mattes which used to stain a hot pink on me and due to which I had started to abhor the brand but these are back again.
The shade I got in in “Feelings” was the softest till now, then I tried on cinnamon which was agian a very hard just like the velvet matte one then I tried this which again reminded me of the Velvet matte due to the hard bullet it has. It is really nothing creamy or buttery like you would imagine, means they are pretty much like any other Colorbar lipsticks you might have used.
When I swatches it the bullet felt a little hard, I like my lippies to be buttery, then I saw that the shade on the bullet is double as ark as the swatch, on the lips too,the color came out half as dark of what it looked in the tube, no issues but just to let you know. This one wont stain as the other ones thankfully, but the next shade I am reviewing soon stains badly.
These get softer, the more you swipe the softer they get. But the first impression is that it is not so buttery as I was hoping for, mattes don’t have to be hard, Chambor powder mattes are very creamy at the same time they are powder mattes. You feel the need to swipe it on and on an still barely any color shows up.
The color is like of brown, mauve and pink, it is nice and light, it can be built up, no issues there too,i think it is a classic shade, most of us can wear it to office too an a very sober sophisticated shade it is.I like how it comes out with a black liner or kohl.
The shade is on the sheer side, it wont be as pigmented on your lips as it is on the tube, you might find it hard too and feel the need to swipe it on and on. It feels like the old velvet mattes and I really wish these were smoother. It stays on me for around 3 hours, does not dry out lips.Since the finish is alike a semi matte, I don’t think you would find it dry. Honestly this particular shade will remind you of Naked pink from the older velvet matte.
The shade is great for all skin tones, IMO, and the shade will cover medium pigmentation on the lips, I know many of you like me to point this out in my reviews. It is also suitable for normal to dry lips too since it is not a powder matte formula.
2.9/5 You might find it overpriced.
