Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation Review

Skin type : Normal-Dry

God knows I am the biggest fan Colorbar BB Cream. Even though it provides just light coverage, it blends like a dream and feels just like my skin but better. The biggest reason I love it is that it matches my skin tone perfectly after blending. But, this review isn’t about the BB cream, it’s about this foundation. So when Rati was making 10 Best Products from Colorbar list, she realised that this foundation hadn’t been reviewed on IMBB. I shamelessly grabbed the opportunity and got this foundation to review.

My Experience with Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation:

packaging

You cannot complain about this kind of packaging when it comes to primers and foundations. It is a uniquely shaped squeeze tube with a silver twist open cap. You have full control over how much product will get dispensed. But, of course, you cannot put extra product back into the tube. This is so travel friendly – it won’t spill in the suitcases due to pressure, you can carry it around for touch-ups.

cap

The shade I have is “Classic Ivory 001”, which is the first shade in the range. Now I am not at all the fairest person on earth, yet only this shade matches me the best. This is the case with their BB cream too, I always buy the first shade and it matches me perfectly. Classic Ivory has yellow undertones and matches my skin when blended properly.

nozzle

The foundation has a very creamy texture and it glides so well on perfectly moisturised skin. Remember, it doesn’t glide as well on dry-normal skin. I need to use a very moisturising primer, like Natio Primer, before applying this to make it blend properly. I have tried to apply this foundation with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush, Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and Zoeva 124 Grand Stippling Brush. But, it blends well only with fingers.

back

I feel that this foundation looks better during daytime, maybe because it offers light-medium coverage. It brightens up the face a little and hides minor flaws. Even though it feels lightweight, it looks cakey upon layering, no matter how much I try to blend it. I find pretty average for the price. People with oily or combination skin might give it a try, but still this is not the best foundation around.

foundation packaging

The staying power is also quite disappointing. It stays on for maximum four hours on my skin without a primer, with a primer it lasts maximum 6 hours. It fades evenly but does not look as flattering after an hour or two of application. The brand claims that it contains “Soft Focus” complex which hides imperfections but I do not agree. It does not accentuate my pores but does not hide them either.

Would I Recommend Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation?
If this is the only option you have, give it a try. Otherwise, here are some good foundations under INR 800:

1. Za Perfect Fit Liquid Foundation
2. Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Finish Foundation
3. Coloressence HD High Definition Foundation
4. Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup Foundation
5. Colobar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup
6. L’Oreal Paris Magic Nude Liquid Powder

Would I Repurchase Colorbar Perfect Match Foundation?
Even though I love Colorbar, I would not repurchase this foundation. It failed to impress me. I do not like to apply my foundations with fingers and it does not get applied well with a sponge or a brush.

    1. Awww thank you Rati. Your comment on my reviews always means a lot. I was also expecting a bit more but… 😛 Glad finally my pics r improving. 😀

  1. Nice review Shikha. I have the same opinion about this foundation. After along time, I tried it today and I had difficult time in blending this foundation using my TBS foundation brush. It blends well only with fingers. After reading this post i was recalling my morning experience 🙂

    1. I am not surprised Shilpa that you too have the same opinion about it. I so wanted this foundation to work in my favor somehow.
