I was eager to try a color from the Colorbar true gloss as soon as it was launched. I finally laid my hand on shade Nectar Orange because I didn’t have such a color and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.
Rs 495 for 3.8 ml
My experience with Colorbar true gloss:
I am completely in love with this gloss. It comes in a cylindrical, long tube with a doe-foot applicator. This doe foot applicator provides very smooth and even coverage.
Nectar Orange is a very pretty, orange color with just a slight tinge of red and coral in it. It is quite different from what it looks in the tube because it doesn’t look that bright on the lips. It looks like a very wearable orange color on the lips. I have never worn such a bright and opaque color, but somehow this color didn’t make me uncomfortable the first time I wore it and now after using it for so many times, I am in love with it. It can be even worn as a tint if you don’t want to apply such bright color. It gives a coral touch to the lips then. If you love corals and oranges, you are absolutely going to love it.
For a lip gloss, it is highly pigmented. A single swipe covers my pigmented lips totally. It isn’t shiny or sparkly but has a subtle sheen to it, so it can be worn easily at day time. The texture of the lip gloss is just awesome. It is smooth, creamy and not at all drying. Being totally opaque, I expected it to be drying but I liked the texture a lot. It feels very smooth and light on my lips and is not sticky. It moisturizes my lips but not to an extent that I need in winters, so I prefer to apply a balm beneath it.
The staying power of this lip gloss is again awesome. It easily stays for about 5 hours on my lips and fades leaving behind a tint of color. It requires a lip make up remover to remove it and because of its extreme pigmentation, sometimes when it fades away; it leaves some stain near the inner lines of lip which might need to be removed. (It looks slightly brighter in person than what it looks in the picture)
Pros of Colorbar true gloss:
• Nectar orange is a very unique color and will suit almost all skin colors.
• Highly pigmented and opaque.
• Very smooth and creamy.
• Has a subtle sheen and dewy appearance of a gloss.
• Not at all drying.
• Awesome staying power.
Cons of Colorbar true gloss:
• Requires a lip makeup remover to remove it.
Will I repurchase/ do I recommend Colorbar true gloss?
Absolutely yes! You should definitely try another color in this range, if you are not comfortable with oranges and corals. As far as Nectar Orange is concerned, it is a very unique and pretty color and you should definitely check it out.
