My Experience with Coloressence High Pigment Matte Pencil – HP2 Nude Magic:

I really enjoyed using these lip pencils, and see them to make good potential cream blushes and I found this while doing the transfer-proof and smudge proof tests. Both colors are warm and one of these would suit light to medium-light skin tones as blushes and with a little bit of glitter they would make great backup blushes for special occasions and I say it with confidence since I tried and tested it. Now let me move on to this color’s performance as a lip pencil.

lip pencil

Packaging: The berry colored lip pencil is a simple, sturdy, short chubby stick that is color-coded at the bottom. It is easy to spot this pencil in your lip kit while it is also easy to carry around. Do not underestimate the performance of these simple looking pencils though!

crayons

Color: It is a sweet and soft berry pink that can be worn every day and this matte lip color is a safe bet for a wide variety of skin tones and complexions. If you are on a hunt for a regular berry matte lip wear that is shimmer-free and decently pigmented, you must go for this one. It is easy for frequent reapplications and I say that after having evaluated its staying power, which is quite low.

Hand Swatches

Texture and finish: The finish of the lip pencils has tempted me to buy ‘Cinnabar’ and ‘Seduction’ from this range. I am curious to see how the intense shades would perform. Going back to ‘Nude Magic’, the lip pencil offers an even, semi-matte, mild, creamy finish that weighs ultra light on your lips. This simple matte scored with me as it does not have serious creasing issues nor does it dry out my lips. You don’t have to worry about serious bleeding or feathering problems which I personally fear especially with mattes. I would say do not go strictly by my lip swatches as my lips are highly strained and the hand swatch is how it would ideally look upon application. I am looking forward to obtain a neat finish once my lips have recuperated from the current strained situation.

Pigmentation and staying power: The staying power of this lip crayon was surprisingly low although it had good levels of pigmentation. Upon analysis, in my personal opinion I find it to be numb to even multiple coats of the product by which I mean, as much as the pigmentation is easy to build, the staying power is really low although it gives a good color payoff. This lip pencil’s staying power can be taken a notch higher with the help of a liner and for the application process to be smoother; I would advise you to go for a good tinted balm underneath it. This can also be worn on top of a berry lip butter to improve the staying power and to make the finished look ‘your lips but better’. The berry colored lip pencil would last a meal and a drink.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Coloressence High Pigment Matte Pencil – HP2 Nude Magic?
I would not repurchase although I love this shade as I look forward to exploring more colors from this range but I would recommend this lip pencil to you if you are looking for a neat neutral pink that delivers a natural matte finish.
Verdict: ‘Nude Magic’ would definitely be my everyday neutral pink.
