Cool and Refreshing Mint Face Scrub: Do It Yourself

Hello Everyone,

Today, I am going to share with you the recipe of a very cool and refreshing mask and scrub. To be honest, I am a very lazy person but once a week, I do give the kitchen ingredients a go for a change. It was during one such process that I noticed a fresh bunch of mint leaves and just without thought, I added a few leaves to my scrub and was really amazed by the feel the scrub gave in the scorching summers. So here’s what you all will need:

Ingredients:

Cool+and+Refreshing+Mint+Face+Scrub+Do+It+Yourself

  • 1 tablespoon oats.
  • 2 teaspoon milk powder.
  • ½ teaspoon honey.
  • 10-12 mint leaves.
  • A small cucumber (peeled).

First, let me tell you the benefits of the main ingredients cucumber and mint.

Mint: Mint leaves have a host of benefits for the skin, including their anti-acne properties that clean up pores and prevent dryness. It is also effective in leaving dry skin hydrated and vibrant, helps fight acne and also used to treat blackheads.

Cucumber: Cucumbers have potassium, ascorbic and caffeic acids that help us stay hydrated because of their moisture-retaining properties and help gain back the essential minerals lost during summers.

Method:

Step 1: In a bowl, take 1 tbsp oats, to that add 2 tsp milk powder.

Step 2:  Add ½ tsp honey.

Step 3:  Slightly muddle up the mint leaves using a mortar and pestle and add it to the bowl. Make sure that you clean the leaves thoroughly before using as leafy greens tend to have a lots of chemicals and dirt attached to them. Rinse them at least 3-4 times before using.

Step 4: Grate the cucumber using a handy grater. Add about 1 tsp of grated cucumber to the mixture and about 1 tsp of strained cucumber juice.

Mix all the ingredients well and allow the mixture to stand for a few minutes so that all the ingredients get mixed well.

Apply on face and let it dry for 6-7 minutes. When semi dry, scrub it using a little water in circular motions and then wash it off to for a cool and relaxed feeling.

I have been using this scrub for over a month now and twice a week. It gives a clean and clear feeling with a healthy glow on my face. Even the pores appear smaller and my skin feels hydrated and moisturized.  Do give this scrub a try. It requires only a little effort, but is absolutely worth it.
