Covergirl Cheekers in Rose Silk Review

Covergirl Cheekers in Rose Silk

Hello beauties!

Hope all of you are doing well!
I generally don’t use blushes. I have owned hardly 2-3 blushes till now, because honestly, I didn’t know how to apply them (and never bothered to learn). But over the couple of years, IMBB definitely increased my interest in all this amazing stuff and taught me so much! So, cheers to IMBB for that! The product I would be reviewing today is “CovergirlCheekers Blush” in the shade “Rose Silk”

My experience with Covergirl Cheekers in Rose Silk:

I would say that I am a newbie when it comes to blushes. So, I wanted to go in for some light pink ‘corally’ color, which looked natural, something that had no obvious shimmer, and less sheen. I wanted something that just gave my cheeks a healthy flush of color. This shade ‘rose silk’ (shade number 105) seemed good enough!!

Let me talk about the packaging first. This blush comes in a very compact, rectangular plastic case. It has a transparent lid which snaps shut, making it quite travel friendly and one also gets to see the exact color of the blush. A small brush is also provided in the case. But it is not of much use as it picks up either very little or too much of product. If blush is applied with this brush, it at times looks a bit streaky.

The color is a pretty peachy pink. However, I do not like the pigmentation of this shade much. It is quite sheer, appears to have more sheen and very fine shimmer, than color. If you look at the swatch picture (the one with swatches on the fingers), you can compare the one with the blush, and the one without it. The color does not show up much, and it appears to have more of sheen and slight glow. When blended well, it gives a very slight hint of color (barely there kind of look). If I try to build up the color, it looks a little unnatural. It would work better as a highlighter than a blush. Also, for people with yellow toned skin like mine, the color might not show up well. This would suit fair to slight wheatish skin tones.

The texture is really silky and feels soft, smooth on the skin.It does not have a very strong smell. But it does have a slight hint of chemically smell which isn’t bothersome at all. It lasts for about 4 hours or so. By the end of 4 hours, I feel as though some fine highlighter has been used on the cheeks and not a blush.

Pros of CovergirlCheekers Blush – Rose Silk:

• Affordable
• Travel friendly
• Nice peachy color
• Silky smooth texture
• Decent lasting power

Cons of CovergirlCheekers Blush – Rose Silk:

• Pigmentation isn’t great
• Brush provided is practically of no use
• Not suitable for many skin tones

IMBB Rating: 3/5

Verdict: I would recommend this to people who have fair to medium skin tone, and those who want an extremely sheer, natural looking blush. To those who are looking for that nice pop of colour on the cheeks, this shade is not for you. This can work really well as a highlighter though. Overall, this range of blushes is quite decent. I unfortunately picked up the wrong shade. I have read reviews on IMBB about other shades from this range, and they sound really good. In fact, I am sure I would pick up the shade ‘Golden Pink’ which was recently reviewed by Padmashree. Do try out the other shades from this range!!

    1. thank you rati *happy dance* the color looks really pretty in the case… but color pay off isn’t good enough *nonono* if i try to layer it a bit, it leaves a kind of whitish cast / glow on the cheeks.. And if i apply a small amount, it doesn’t last long enough…. *cry* The Nars one has such good pigmentation!!

  2. Loved the review and pictures, Prajakti! 🙂 Yes, more suited for very fair skin. Am sure you will enjoy ‘Golden Pink’! *puchhi* *puchhi*
