Spring and summer new makeup launches excite me the most as many different brands, whether drugstore or high end, come out with gorgeous bright pinks, oranges and many more colours, which I am huge fan of. Following the trend, Covergirl has very recently launched a new range of lipsticks in their permanent line in collaboration with Katy Perry. So today, I would like to share my experience and views on Covergirl Katy Kat Matte Lipstick in “Maroon Meow.” Let’s get started.

My Experience with Covergirl Maroon Meow Katy Perry Katy Kat Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: Can we take a minute here and admire the cute packaging of this lipstick! This range by Katy Perry is designed around the “Cat theme” and hence the shade names and the packaging revolve around that theme. This lipstick has a square matte white body with Katy’s name on it in bold. The bottom of the tube is color coded to the lipstick bullet. The lipstick bullet swirls up effortlessly and does not stick to the tube itself. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick which has cat ears on it, how adorable! The best thing is that the lipstick cap shuts with a secure click sound. All in all very sturdy and super attractive packaging.
Color: The color “Maroon Meow” is such a pretty plum-y toned maroon shade colour with warm undertones. It’s just that perfect shade that’s so appropriate for women who love such daring shades. This lipstick shade is really subjective, but I would still say that this particular shade is for courageous lipstick lovers. Also, this shade is gorgeous and will suit a variety of different skin tones.
Texture: This lipstick has a very smooth and creamy texture and applies like butter on the lips, which is splendid. The texture is not dry and patchy at all. In fact, it feels quite comfortable on the lips, but I would suggest beauties with extremely dry and chapped lips (like me) to apply a lip balm prior to this lipstick so that there’s no tugging or pulling. This lipstick does not contain any shimmer.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this baby is bang on!! Although one swipe of this lipstick does not give a considerable amount of coverage, the best thing about this lipstick is that it is buildable without getting patchy or feeling heavy. You can apply it with a light hand for that beautiful flush or go for a full-on coverage if you please. Since it is a creamy formulation, it does transfer a bit, but that’s totally okay. Also, ladies with pigmented lips can rejoice as this lipstick covers pigmented lips really well.
Longevity: I was a firm believer that only matte lipsticks are long lasting, but this baby has changed my perception totally. In spite of its very creamy-glossy finish, it lasts on the lips for at least 5 to 6 hours with a little bit of snacks and beverages. It also leaves a tint behind which I really enjoy, so impressive!!
