Covergirl Sweet Tangerine Colorlicious Lipstick Review

Hope you are doing good! Today I am reviewing a lipstick from Covergirl’s new Colorlicious lipstick range. The shade is ‘Sweet Tangerine‘ and the shade number is 285.

My experience with Covergirl Sweet Tangerine Colorlicious Lipstick:

Covergirl has grouped this ‘Colorlicious’ range of lipsticks into four color families – nudes, pinks, reds and plums. ‘Sweet Tangerine’ is part of the ‘Reds’ family.

Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a rectangular tube, similar to Covergirl’s Lip Perfection range. While all the shades in the Lip Perfection range had the same rose chrome packaging, the lipsticks in the Colorlicious range have caps which indicate the color family they belong to. ‘Sweet Tangerine’ has a red cap.

The cap fits tightly which makes it makeup bag-friendly. The lipstick tubes have a color coded base on which the shade name and number are printed. But the color of the base is not an exact match to the actual lipstick shade or finish. So determining the color and finish just based on the colored base is a bit tricky.

Color and Pigmentation:
‘Sweet Tangerine’ is a pretty coral orange which is a great option for a summer lipstick. This particular shade will suit light to light-medium skin tones. Due to the balmy texture of these Colorlicious lipsticks, the pigmentation is not very strong. With one layer, you will get a very sheer finish. For my pigmented lips, even with multiple swipes, I cannot get a completely opaque finish.

Texture and Finish:
The Colorlicious lipsticks have a balm like texture. Sweet Tangerine is quite creamy but applies in thin layers. Even if you apply multiple layers, it does not look patchy or feel heavy on the lips. It feels just like you have applied a lip balm. It does not dry the lips at all. I have dry lips and with this lipstick, my lips feel very moisturized even after hours. This lipstick has a glossy finish. There is no shimmer.

Scent:
Some of the shades in this Colorlicious lipstick range have a sweet plastic -y scent, reminiscent of Covergirl’s Lip Perfection range of lipsticks. ‘Sweet Tangerine’ is, surprisingly, scent free!

Longevity:
Lasting power is average for this lipstick. I get about 3 hours with no eating, before it starts fading. It fades evenly all over the lips though, which is good. It transfers very easily and will not survive a meal. It does not leave any tint on the lips.

•  Does not accentuate dry spots on the lips
•  Does not dry the lips and keeps them moisturized.

Cons of Covergirl Sweet Tangerine Colorlicious Lipstick:

Lasting power is low.

Recommendation:
Though the formula of this lipstick is really moisturizing and comfortable, this particular shade might not suit all skin tones.
