I decided to buy the gel that comes with the toner as part of a trial kit for acne-prone skin.
Background about Curel: Curel is a dermatologist-recommended line from the Japanese skin care/beauty company Kao. Their branch in the US mainly does products for the body, hands and feet. The Curel products here in Japan are majorly skin care based.
Product Description (translated):
Product suitable not only for dry but also sensitive skin with excess sebum. Has moisturizing ingredients such as ceramide and eucalyptus extract. It is non-oily and is water-based gel, which can penetrate deep into the skin layers and refresh it. Prevents acne because of anti-inflammatory agents in the gel. Use 3-4 pumps and spread on the face. Can be used for up to 3 months after opening.
Packaging:
This comes in a slightly shorter bottle than the lotion and has 120 mL of product. The bottle has a pump and is easy to use. It does not dispense a whole lot of product, which means you can control the total amount you want to use.

My Thoughts on Curel Sebum Care Moisture Gel:
The product is alcohol, scent, colour-free. They do recommend patch testing before use for sensitive skin. The consistency of this product is like a watery gel. I can definitely tell it is a water-based product, just as they claim, because it spreads and gets absorbed by the skin within a few minutes.
I use this product right after the lotion (toner) dries. I don’t layer any more skin products after this. This product, along with the lotion, has definitely reduced the size of my acne breakouts and also fades the scars. I feel this product hydrates the skin just the right amount. If you have dry skin, you can layer a serum on top; but because I have combination skin, I don’t.
It also works well under makeup. I do prefer using an eye cream for my under-eye area for some extra dose of moisture though. I have fallen in love with this range because it is gentle and gets the job done. I recommend this to everyone with acne-prone skin.
