Hello Girls,
Today I am here with the review of a product from the brand with which I had stepped into IMBB. My first review was from Deborah Milano; it was the blush in shade Terracotta. Today, I am here with a lip liner from Deborah in shade 01. Past few months I have been going through a lip liner phase, that’s the sign of a true cosmetic lover & a shopaholic.

Product Details: The latest plastic pencil enclosing an innovative long-wearing waterproof formula. With color that stays true all day long, a consistency that glides on instantly and effortlessly and a texture that is amazingly comfortable. Dermatologist tested.

Price: INR 425.

Packaging: The lip liner comes in a sleek sharpen-able pencil. The outer body is of the same shade of the liner, with a dull golden colored cap and golden detailing on it. The packaging looks really classy & attractive with the matte finish body.

My Take on Deborah Milano Extra Lip Pencil #01

Color, Texture & Pigmentation: Shade #01 is a brownish pink shade, which is more brown with pinkish undertones with very minuscule but concentrated shimmers in it. I don’t know why? on applying one whole lips it become somewhat a totally rusty brown kind of shade. This shade will suit almost every skin tone. And will look fabulous on teaming it with a warm toned pink lipstick.
The texture of this lip liner is very creamy smooth and glides easily on lips, transferring the color evenly on lips. But soon after applying, it sets into powdery matte finish. The powdery texture does make it a little drying for extremely dry lips beauties, but I didn’t feel the need of applying a lip balm over it. The powdery matte does exaggerate dry lips, making it look flaky if worn alone, but it didn’t worsen the conditions of dry lips, like making them extremely dry. I was okay in it, but it’s better to top a lipstick or gloss over it.

The lip liner is highly pigmented, one swipe gives opaque coverage even to cover naturally pigmented lips, and it can be worn alone as a lipstick, as it gives nice thick coverage.

Staying Power: I was overwhelmed by the staying power of this lip liner, I wiped my lips multiple times to check whether it transfers or not, but there was no transferring or smudging, it remained intact on me 6-7 hours, with its true color on my lips, a little fading was there in the last hour when I was really harsh with lip liner. It easily survives heavy meals, you can have your lunch & dinner wearing it, but it’ll not fade off.

• Will suit every skin tone.
• Packaging is very attractive.
• Texture is very creamy & smooth.
• Glides easily on lips, no tugging.
• Pigmentation is superb, gives opaque coverage in single swipe.
• Has a true matte finish.
• No transferring or smudging.
• Stays long for 6-7 hours easily, without much fading.
• Doesn’t lack the needed moisture for normal lips.
• Is waterproof & long wearing.
• The shimmers in it are hardly noticeable.
• Can be easily removed by makeup remover.

Cons of Deborah Milano Extra Lip Pencil 01

• Dry lips will not like it.
• It does make the lips appear flaky.
• Though the shimmers are very minute but are really concentrated, shimmer in a lip liner is a weird thing for me.
• The color appears darker and totally brown when I applied it on entire lips.
• The powdery matte texture makes it a little drying, it should have been more on the creamy side.

Recommendation/ Re-purchase: Yes, I’ll recommend this lip liner to everyone, if you’re ready to deal with the dryness, and you’re in search of a long lasting lip liner, this is for you, it can be a good base, or can be used to simply line your lips, with the nude and the pink lipsticks, or can be used as a lipstick too. I’ll definitely try the other shades in this range, but not this shade.

IMBB Rating: 4.5/ 5. 1/2 Marks less for my friends here who have extremely dry lips.
