Packaging:

The lipstick comes in a classy golden packaging. The tube is asymmetrical in shape and golden in color, which feels a little bulky at the bottom and the lipstick is housed in a twist up case. You’ll find a color coded sticker at the top of the cap and at the bottom. The lipsticks does have a name but which is not mentioned on anywhere in the packaging.  As for the name, you can ask the SA to look at the product record book and tell the shade name corresponding to the number.

My Experience with Deborah Milano Rossetto Milano Red #11 Lipstick:

Shade: Orange Brocade is an yellow-based orange shade, it can be called a neon orange color. The shade has extremely finely-milled shimmery particles, which give it a warm tone and golden sheen.  The shade may not suit many skin tones due to the neon tinge to it.

Texture and finish:  Texture of the lipstick is very creamy and smooth, and glides effortlessly on the lips.  Formula of the lipstick is pigmented and glossy, rather than creamy thick. It feels very creamy and melts like butter on lips, but it wouldn’t bleed at all. The lipstick is very hydrating, keeps lips well hydrated and soft.  I like the glossiness of the lipstick but the color pigments tends to get accumulated in the inner corners of the lips, which can look bad.  The lipstick will exaggerate flaky, chapped lips a bit, so exfoliating lips before application will work well.  The lipstick gives a nice creamy matte kind of finish on the lips with a mild hint of golden sheen.

Pigmentation: As I have mentioned, the lipstick is a glossy one with a balmy and moisturizing formula, so the pigmentation in one swipe is quite sheer, but the color is extremely buildable.  It covers my slightly pigmented lips in two layers.  The application of the lipstick tends to be patchy and uneven because of the balmy formula, so I would suggest women with severely pigmented lips to not pick this shade; instead they can opt for the darker shades from this range.

Staying Power:  The lipstick gives me a wear time of 3 hours and so, without eating or drinking anything. The even layer of color starts fading after 2 hour of application and then a mild uneven layer of color stays on the lips.  Yes! The lipstick fades very unevenly from the lips.  As the texture is such, the lipstick transfers a lot.  It won’t survive snacks or meal; re-application is needed after eating anything.

Pros of Deborah Milano Rossetto Milano Red #11 Lipstick:

• The shade is a very pretty orange color, perfect for winters.
• Fair skin tones will rock this shade.
• Smooth texture.
• The formula is very hydrating and comfortable on the lips.
• If you like sheer glossy lipstick, you’ll surely love this one.
• The lipstick wouldn’t bleed a bit.
• Packaging looks classy and decent.
• Noticed slightly fuller/plumping effect since the texture is so glossy.
• SPF 15.

Cons of Deborah Milano Rossetto Milano Red #11 Lipstick:

• The sheer and balmy formula of the lipstick is good for non-pigmented and dry lips, but not suitable for intensely pigmented lips.
• The shade may not suit some skin tones.
• Fades away very unevenly from the lips.
• Application is very uneven, and flaky lips will hamper proper application even more.
• Not a long-lasting lipstick.
• The price is a con for me.
• The lipstick has a strong perfume to it and it’s sure to bother sensitive noses.

Would I Recommend Deborah Milano Rossetto Milano Red Orange Brocade Lipstick?

Since the cons are more than the pros, I wouldn’t suggest this particular shade.  If you like the swatches, then you can go ahead.  Do try at the counter to check the pigmentation.
