My Take on Deborah Shine and Volume Light Creator Lipstick – Shade No. 6:

The lipstick comes encased in a lovely-shiny pink metallic tube that clicks open. The packaging is not just pretty, but sturdy as well. At both ends of the tube, there is a pink-coloured label, marking the shade number of the lipstick which makes it easier to locate, in a bunch of multiple shades of the same lipstick. The inside of the lipstick tube is silver. I personally love the packaging, it’s so cute and girly!!

This shade is a soft peachy-pink shade with micro silver shimmer. The shimmer is super fine, not at all over the top and no, this doesn’t make it a strictly night-wear lipstick.  You can easily pull it off during the day time too.

The texture of this lipstick is marvellous! It’s so buttery and smooth, it glides on like a dream. Yet, it doesn’t melt (in case its not refrigerated). The formula is decently moisturizing. It doesn’t feel rough on the lips, and it doesn’t settle into the fine lines or around the lip area. It feels very light and comfortable on the lips and most importantly it is non-transferable. So, no more embarrassing lip marks on the glasses! Yayyiiee for that!!!

It gives a sheer wet look in a single swipe.  The colour can be built up in 2-3 swipes and it goes opaque enough to cover pigmented lips. The finish is glossy, that gives the lips a smooth fuller appearance. You can easily wear it by itself for a day-time outing and you can add sheer gloss during the night-outs. For a day-time outing, I personally like to dab on the lipstick on my lips and then swipe it once and I am done! Wear some kajal and you are all set to go! For the night time, I pair it with a heavily-kohled eyes/smokey eyes and it looks adorable. This particular shade will work for both the fair and medium skin tones. Also, it works with both coral and pink blushes.

Just a minor problem here though, which many of you may not like (I personally have no complaints!).  Its staying power is a little less, than what is commonly demanded. Due to the sheerness and glossy texture, it doesn’t last too long on the lips. It stays put for about 3-and-a-half hours on me, after which the shade starts disappearing. It is completely gone in 4-and-a-half hours, which includes light meals. What is left at the end is some light shimmer, which I personally do not dislike! ;-)

A very important pro for me is the fragrance of the product and this lipstick has a mesmerising bubblegum scent, unlike some lipsticks that have such a dreadful odour of pills. I absolutely love it for its caramel-like heavenly aroma!

Overall Verdict:

I guess the company asked some honest makeup enthusiast to write for them the description of the lipstick because my-my, how this lipstick stands up to all the claims the company makes, is incredible!!

  • Lipstick with light-reflecting glitter particles. Check!
  • The advantage of lip-plumping, ultra-moisturizing and long-lasting “wet look.” Check!
  • Extra luscious creamy texture. DOUBLE Check!
  • Exact output in just one swipe. Check!
  • Plumped up lips and sexy pout. Check!
  • Awe-inspiring look. Check!

So to sum it all up, I am digging this lipstick. You might wish for the lasting-power to be a teeny-tiny-winy longer! (But then, you can’t have it all, can you?). Highly recommended.
