My favourite part of beauty regime has always been skin care. Even when I go to any shop, or any other country, my eyes first wander towards the skin care range of the brand, rather than the makeup. Cleansing, toning, moisturising, exfoliation, sunscreen and drinking lots of water are my basic rules of skin care. A good and healthy skin will help you look and feel best in any situation, even without the help of a lot of makeup. Today, I will be reviewing an exfoliation product, which I have been using since two months, and completely loving it so far.

About the Product: Thermal skin exfoliant infuses skin with age-fighting ingredients. This powerful skin polisher combines physical and chemical exfoliants to refine skin texture and enhance penetration of age-fighting vitamins into skin. Resurfacing microgranules gently polish off dulling skin cells to reveal smoother, fresher skin immediately. Unique thermal technology activates upon contact with water to stimulate penetration of skin-sloughing Salicylic Acid and Retinol, while Prickly Pear Extract accelerates skin’s natural exfoliation process. My experience with Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Thermofoliant  :

 

The product comes in a grey colored box packaging. It has all the information written on it. Inside, there is a grey color tube, with a flip cap. The tube is squeezable, and holds the scrub inside. The scrub is slightly orangish in color, and has a“IODEX BALM” like fragrance. It tastes a bit sour (yes, I have accidentally tasted it once). It is very thick, hence only a small amount of product is needed for the entire face. The scrub can be used on dry face (for more intense exfoliation); as well as on wet face (for milder exfoliation)

This scrub has just WOWED me. It contains very minute particles (just like microdermabrasion scrubs). On applying it on my face, it gives out an instant hot feel. The heat is not very uncomfortable; it feels extremely soothing and pleasant on the face. I usually apply the product on my dry face for a more intense exfoliation. I rub it for 1-2 minutes, and then wash it off with water. On contact with water, it again generates a mild heat.

After washing off the scrub, my skin feels so soft and supple. Any dry patches on my skin are totally smoothed out. My pores look reduced, there is a glow on my face and the white and blackheads are so much reduced. I have been using it twice a week since two months, and it will last me at least another 3-4 months. Its regular use has actually reduced my whiteheads and blackheads to the bare minimum.
The best part of this scrub is its ingredients. It works as both a physical and chemical exfoliant. The physical scrub particles are extremely small, so tiny that it will not tear out any part of the skin cells. It has AHAs and BHAs in it; hence it works as a chemical exfoliant also. It has many useful ingredients in it like vitamins A, E, Lactic acid, Citric acid and green tea extracts. It also has salicylic acid, so extremely useful for oily and acne-prone skin. Also many other ingredients like soybean seed extract, safflower seed oil, lemon peel oil, olive oil, clove leaf oil, rosewood oil and others do make their presence felt, and are very good for dry skin people as well. The heating part is more of a gimmick rather than anything else, but it does give a nice warm and soothing feel to the skin.

Yes, I will, to everyone out there. Exfoliation is an important part of your skin care routine, and if you are confused whether to use a physical or a chemical one, then think no more. All said, this is indeed an amazing product. Apart from the price factor, I could not find any cons in it at all. I totally look forward to my twice weekly scrub now-a- days.
