Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Review

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

Hi Ladies,
I’m going to review a product by dermalogica today. I have heard a lot of raves about the brand dermalogica but this is the very first product I used. I have used the L’Occitane exfoliating face powder and have heard that the daily microfoliant from dermalogica is similar product .Australian women’s magazines sometimes give freebies with magazine purchases and they sometimes include good products from good brands and newly introduced brands. I have previously got Lancôme juicy tubes as a freebie and this time I bought a Marie Claire magazine because they gave away a free Dermalogica Microexfoliant ☺

My Experience with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and Verdict

This is a unique product. (Exactly like L’Occitane exfoliating rice powder). This comes in a bottle which is like a powder container, with small holes to get the powder out. The product in a white powder and looks exactly like white rice powder. According to the instructions I take a small amount of powder and add water to make it a thin paste. I then use this paste to exfoliate my face and neck. After washing off I felt my skin was gently exfoliated and also looked brighter and fresher. Because of the consistency of this product, it is gentle enough for regular use. I totally liked this because of this particular aspect. I don’t like to use coarse/strong scrubs on my face even though I have combination skin. Another good this is that the exfoliant is almost fragrance free, there is only a mild fragrance. I sometimes wet my face and then apply the powder on the face and scrub it gently. My skin looks radiant and bright after using this mask and also reduces blackheads on my nose. Definitely gentle than other face scrubs I have used far (such as St Ives )and is also better performing than the L’occitane exfoliating powder. This scrub contains a bunch of good, natural ingredients such as Oryza Sativa Bran, Oryza Sativa Starch, Papain, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract as well as papain and I guess that is the secret behind this product.

Pros of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

• Very fine rice bran particles are gentle on skin while exfoliating effectively
• Skin looked brighter and radiant after use and felt fresh
• Since it is in powder form this scrub is extremely travel friendly ,even on international flights. But be careful as to store it upright otherwise there will be spillage through the dispenser
• Reduces skin tanning and pigmentation
• Contains natural ingredients such as Oryza Sativa Bran, Oryza Sativa Starch, Papain, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract as well as papain.
• Almost fragrance free (I personally don’t like fragrances on my skincare products).

Cons of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

• The first and biggest con is the Price. I received this as a freebie but buying the full size product is extremely expensive.

IMBB Rating: 4.8/5
I have reduced points only for the price.

Will I repurchase this?
I will not purchase this product because of the price. I might save up some money to buy this exfoliator sometime next year 🙁

  2. Hi Rama,…

Might be a little bit cheaper in some other countries (Aus is always expensive ) but it will still be only a small difference ….this is one of their best sellers

  3. None of the glossies here give freebies 🙁 But I love buying them anyway!
Coming to ur review, its better than st.ives? wow…removign blackheads is a huge pro. Many scrubs just claim to do that but they never do!

  4. Hi Shruti,…

I feel st ives is too harsh for me now ,…im 27…..However during my late teens and early twenties my face was too oily and then St ives worked fine …:)

I dont have too many bleackheads but whatever i had has become very less prominent now,…i would say almost diminishing

    1. That sounds great! And yea, we are both in the same age group 🙂
I hate harsh scrubs too. If the particles are soft , then its good enough for everyday use.
You’re lucky you got to try this! 🙂

  5. wow such an amazing product but the price 🙁
Being a student I can’t even think abt it at the moment 🙁 🙁
And yeah I also loved your nail strips, super pretty 🙂

  6. Supriya ..very nice review.. i have been wanting to try a product from this particular brand for long.. i think will start with a cleanser 🙂

  7. I havent tried any product from this brand. May be because it is not that easily accessible, I never got to try it. 🙂 this product sounds really good and the ingredients list sounds impressive. thanks for the review and lucky you. 😀

  8. Thanks Rati…

This brand is famous among therapists ,…and dermalogica facials are also famous ….I havent tried yet though …I always try to by magazines when they offer worthwhile 🙂 freebies ….Sometimes they give away dodgy stuff too like low quality sunnies 🙁
