Different Kinds of Manicure

Hi ladies,
Our hands and nails are often the overlooked areas of our skin. Summers are all about flaunting those perfectly manicured hands. There are different kinds of manicure options available nowadays. Let’s find out about them and help you make a better choice!
types of manicure

Basic Manicure:

basic manicure
This is your basic nail care treatment, soothing and softening of hands which is done by soaking of your hands in warm soapy water which aids in soothing and softening the dead skin cells. Fingernails are then cleansed, clipped and filed properly. After the hands are dried, the manicurist massages the hands gently and the manicure ends up with application of nail polish with a base coat, main coat and a top coat.

French Manicure:

french manicure
This is a classic manicure treatment where a clear, pale pink or beige polish is applied over the entire nail and the fingertips are whitened using white color nail paint. This kind of manicure looks chic and classic and you also get healthier looking nails. The nails are given a square, round or oval shape and are generally cut into short to medium length to make them look very elegant and enhanced.

Reverse French Manicure:

As the name suggests, this is the reverse of French manicure. In this manicure, the moon of the nail is painted white or any other colour while the rest nail is done in a darker shade. One can try combinations of different colours which will suit all occasions and seasons.

American Manicure:

An American manicure is similar to the French but a bit different in shape and colour of the nails. Pristine whites are used in French manicure but in this, more neutral colours are used on the tip of the nails. Also the tips of the nails are more rounded.

Gel Manicure:

In this manicure, the same steps for the basic manicure are followed except a special polish or gel polish that requires curing under a UV light is applied. This polish is less prone to chipping and is definitely longer lasting than the basic nail paint. Generally 3 coats are applied and nails are held under UV light between each coat for the gel to set completely.

Paraffin Manicure:

paraffin manicure
This manicure is for overworked hands and also excessively dry hands. This treatment infuses your skin with paraffin wax which provides instant moisture, leaving the skin all smooth and supple. Sometimes various essential oils are added to the treatment for extra moisturizing benefits.

Hot Stone Manicure:

A hot stone manicure involves all the treatments of a regular manicure but with the addition of heated stones which are placed over and below the hands to provide relief and comfort. The basic manicure is done and then hand massage is done using age old hot stone therapy which also provides comfort to overworked hands.

Spa Manicure:

This is an extensive process and includes additional treatments like the paraffin wax treatment or glycolic exfoliation treatment in addition to basic manicure.
