Drunk Elephant B Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Gel Review

I have mentioned in a few of my earlier reviews that Drunk Elephant is slowly becoming my favorite skin care brand. I added one more item from them in my collection. I chose this item mainly because the combination of a new-launch from my favorite skincare brand and something which promises hydration for my super dry skin was hard to resist.

About the product: An anti-aging vitamin B5 gel that replenishes, brightens, and improves the appearance of skin texture and tone while delivering intense moisture.
What it is formulated to do: B-Hydra™ is like a cool glass of water for your thirsty skin. Uniquely formulated with provitamin B and pineapple ceramide, it attracts and holds moisture to leave skin looking healthy and illuminated. Watermelon rind/apple/lentil complex provides up to 24 hours of hydration and significantly reduces the appearance of fine lines. Swertiachirata extract supports the appearance of skin thickness, and bearberry extract naturally brings antioxidant and skin-lightening properties to the formulation. Finally, sodium hyaluronatecrosspolymer soaks in easily to provide unsurpassed moisture through the slow delivery of water. It also acts as a powerful antioxidant. My Experience with Drunk Elephant B Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Gel:

Packaging: I love the simple yet practical packaging. I like that it has a pump dispenser which pops out when you twist the cap. It is also impervious to light and air which helps keep the ingredients stable.

Texture: This product has a wonderful gel texture. It spread onto the skin easily with a slip and 1- 1 ½ pump is all I need for my whole face and parts of my neck. It instantly and readily absorbs into my skin and leaves me with amazing baby soft and thoroughly moisturized skin without any greasy residue. It feels like I have nothing on my skin, just naturally blessed amazing supple skin.

I find this product to be appropriate to use any time of the day or night. During the day it makes an amazing base for makeup and gets rid of every last dry patch on my skin. In the night I layer this between my AHA treatment and my facial oil and it gives my skin care a boost of hydration. This product has truly been God-sent for me to help combat the excessive dry flaky skin I was having due to incorporating a retinol in my skin care routine.

When I use this at night before my skincare routine, my skin feels plump and smooth as velvet, the next day that I can resist touching it. Due to its gel texture it is easy to mix this and/or layer it with your other skincare or makeup products.

Fragrance: It has a very mild scent which is not bothersome.
Overall I think this product is suitable for every skin type from normal, dry to oily but those with dry, parched, dehydrated skin will particularly fall head over heels in love with this. I do think it is absolutely worth every penny but if you are on a tight budget I have found that the performance of this product is very similar to the Cerave PM moisturizer I have used in the past. I see myself repurchasing this for years and years to come till I find something better. Highly highly recommend!
