ELF Cover Everything Concealer (6)

Anyways, getting to today’s review, I’m reviewing a concealer from E.L.F., one of the most talked about brand of late on IMBB. Being a management student, late night projects, movies, stress, assignments and everything is quite common, which leads to dark circles and puffy eyes. It’s said “Eyes often do the talking” but who would like to stare in your dark, messy eyes? Nobody. That’s when the concealer comes to your rescue. Let’s see how did this concealer from ELF fare on me.

Price: Although I got it as a gift, it’s available for purchase at $2.

Shade: 23142 LIGHT. Available in 3 other shades.

My take on E.L.F.Cover Everything Concealer:

This is my first product from the brand ELF (Eyes Lips Face) and I’m not quite impressed with it. I am anyway not a great fan of concealers but I do use them when I have breakouts to conceal my pimple spots and at times to hide my dark circles, but this concealer failed me for quite a few reasons.

The packaging is light in weight and it comes in a sleek round packaging with a transparent flip open cap. Nothing except the shade code and name is mentioned behind. The cap shuts tight with a click making the packaging sturdy.

As far as the shade is concerned, light is the 2nd lightest shade of the 4 available shades. It looks like my skin tone color that is neither too fair nor too dark in the packaging, only later when you apply it; it turns out to be a whitish shade which lightens the skin way too much making it look artificial.

The texture is moderately creamy but on a drier side which makes it difficult to blend. The consistency of this concealer is fairly thick. When I apply it under my eyes to hide dark circles, my eyes look caked up in concealer. The concealer stays on for some 2-3 hours. During summers due to heat, the area where the concealer is applied gets very oily, which is such a turn off for a person like me with combination skin.
Although, at times when I’m in too much hurry or when I run short of foundation, I use this concealer for touch up. It is to be applied using either a concealer brush or fingers allowing me to give a quick touch up.

Let me note down the pros and cons of this not-that-great concealer.

Pros of E.L.F. Cover Everything Concealer:

• Not heavy on pockets
• Light in weight and travel-friendly
• Medium coverage
• A little quantity goes a long way.
• Useful for quick touch ups when short of foundation.

Cons of E.L.F.Cover Everything Concealer:

• The texture is very dry and application doesn’t go smooth due to it.
• Not easy to blend.
• Doesn’t suit Indian skin tones, for it is whitish in shade when applied.
• Under-eyes look white and cakey.
• Gives a messy during summers due to melting and oiliness that it secretes .

Will I repurchase E.L.F.Cover Everything Concealer?

Not really. I don’t recommend it to Indian beauties since it’s too light a shade to suit our skin tones.
