How to Earn Six-figure Income From Your Blog; IMBB Blogging Course

Would You Like to Stay in Venice For One Year and Do Nothing?

How to Earn Six-figure Income From Your BlogRati and I have been working online since 2006. I have practically lived on the internet since 1997, from the days of the dumb terminals in IIT Delhi (the only browser available then was lynx and everything online was in the form of text, no pictures). There was no Google back then. No cyber cafes even. Needless to say, I saw the internet grow in front of me. And it grew fast. Very fast. From Netscape to Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox to Chrome, the browsers changed faces quickly. Even the blogging platforms evolved; Typepad, Live Journal, Blogger, or WordPress. The changes have been so surprising and rapid that nothing on the internet surprises us anymore.

In October, 2006, we started TotalGadha, an MBA preparation portal. It was started as a hobby site initially. We had not given thought to earning from the website. The website soon became a hit amongst the students because of the quality of the content. Nearly one year after we started the website, one of my blogger friends told me about Adsense. He told me how we can earn through Adsense through our website. Like all internet entrepreneurs excited to earn from the site, we opened an Adsense account and placed the ad widgets everywhere. And needless to mention, especially to those who have experienced Adsense for the first time, we failed to make money with it. Even after one year, despite having a rocking site with nearly 50k pageloads daily, we were barely making Rs. 10000 monthly through Adsense. There was no problem with Adsense though. We were just doing it wrong. Sadly, we learnt our first lesson- earning online is tough.

In 2008, nearly 2 years after we had started TotalGadha, we started to look forward to ways we could start generating revenue from the site. Rati and I were planning to marry and we wanted to increase our income, especially to look good in her parents’ eyes. We had 1.5 lakh registered users on the site till then. Other competitors were also pushing in and we needed money to promote the site. We started seriously to monetize our website, try something or the other all the time. Product-selling, affiliate marketing, subscription modules… you name it and we tried it. And this time we were not throwing darts in the dark; we had two years of trust with our readers with us and we had strength of our purpose. Within 2 months, our website was earning INR 15000- 20000 per day. We didn’t stop there. We kept pushing our earning curve higher and higher. In February 2009, Rati and I bought a house for our mom without a single penny of bank loan. Our hobby website had paid for that. πŸ™‚ And we learnt our second lesson- you have to be really serious about online revenue in order to make it.

Rati started IMBB in 2009. After 3 months I joined her too. We sold TotalGadha to TathaGat, our offline classroom program, internally and started focusing on IMBB completely. While writing this post, TathaGat has already crossed a turnover of 4 crores per annum. IMBB is already earning a handsome six-figure income and would become a company with an annual turnover of 1 crore by the end of this year. And most of our revenue comes from Advertising- Adsense or otherwise. IMBB is a premium Adsense publisher today- that means we get a lot many ad widgets than normal publishers and we have a dedicated account manager at Adsense office. Today IMBB supports not only the expenses of writers and its team but also our travels that you see on Faux Pas and Rati’s shopping bills. πŸ˜€ If you consider the last three bags that Rati purchased, you can buy a nice car in that. Go figure.

While you are converting IMBB revenue to per month and week and day, the sad truth is that IMBB has been one of the rare blogs in India to make it. Not because of luck but because of the countless lessons we learnt during the days we struggled to make it big with TotalGadha. And it has not happened overnight; it has happened because of some continuous decisions and improvements that we made and because of some fundamentals that we never lost sight of. We really want to talk about that. And we are inviting you.
dream house earn from blogging

Are You Sitting in Your Office on Monday and Reading This?

Blogging has enabled the whole IMBB team to work from home, work at their own pace, and work at their own time. It has enabled us to be with our loved ones all the time AND still earn a living doing things that each one of us love to do. There is not a single dull day on IMBB. Rati and I keep traveling throughout India and, come August, after my teaching assignments are over, we plan to travel all over the world. We want to do travel, makeup, fashion, and photography, and earn all the more doing all that. I hope I’m making you jealous enough.

Do You Want to Earn From Blogging?

Are you passionate about something you love but don’t know how to make a living out of it? Are you a blogger struggling with your blog for past many years and don’t know where to quit or to continue? Are you wondering if your day job would have been better than blogging? Are you wondering why after putting so much hard work in your blog or facebook page or youtube channel you are not earning enough? Are you wondering how to take your blog to the next level or how to earn from your blog? Are you thinking about starting a blog and wondering if it would be a good idea? Do you want to work from home and escape that 9-to-5 rush for the rest of your life? Do you want to earn from your blog and have your dream life?

Welcome to IMBB Blogging Course

A one-time blogging course taken by Rati and me, teaching you how to make blogging a life-changing experience. It’s a 5-day course, from June 10th (Monday) to June 14th (Friday) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm everyday. Venue- Tathagat center, Connaught Place, Delhi. Course fee- Rs. 20000.

Everything we have learnt, we have learnt by doing things ourselves. Yes, we have read the same blogs on SEO, social media, and Adsense optimization that you have. But we know where these blogs are talking crap and where that information really works. We also know that so many blogs with a singular focus on SEO, social media or Adsense are not working and will never work. And we would like to share all that with you. And with so many others like you.

Why Should You be Serious About an Internet Business in India

At about 150 million Internet users, India now has 3rd largest Internet population in the world after China (at 575m) and the US (at 275m). At 150 million total Internet users, the Internet penetration in India remains at 12 per cent vs. 43 per cent in China and 80 per cent in the US. However, the low penetration means that India presents unmatchable growth opportunity for the Internet sector in coming years. In our view, India will likely see golden period of the Internet sector between 2013 to 2018 with incredible growth opportunity and secular growth adoption for E-Commerce, Internet advertising, social media, search, online content, and services relating to E-Commerce and Internet advertising. India Internet advertising generated $300 million in revenue in 2012 and can double in 2013 to reach $600 million.
dream car blogging
A McKinsey report states that there will be 330 million Indians on the Internet in 2015, making it the second largest connected population in the world.

That’s a huge opportunity. And it is just starting. This is the right time to get into an internet business. Do it right and you would never have to worry about paying your bills anymore. Get in.

And we are going to teach you about how to earn six-figure income from your blog through this course. we are going to teach you the fundamentals that will hold you even when things are not going right.

Here are answers to some related questions

1. Do I need to submit the course fee in advance?

(I am little bit unsure about the course as this is something unusual to pay the fees online & then attend the course)
Yes you have to. In any ordinary educational institute also you have to pay the fees in advance before attending classes. Our company is a legitimate company running for the last 6 years. Not only that we shall send you the screenshot of your payment as confirmation of the same. We have kept the online payment just for the reason that you have the proof of your transaction. πŸ™‚

2. Is this a job guaranteed course?

No it is not. If you are looking for a job then you should not be looking at blogging at all. By joining us you are looking at developing and growing a business which you can run from anywhere in the world and at your own time. Please take this as an entrepreneurial course for an online business. At the end of the day, no one can guarantee you the success of your business. But we would teach you all the tools that are necessary make your blogging a success; more successful than your normal day job.

3. Is the course duration enough to get all the required knowledge for blogging?

We are sure it is. In 5 days, we would not only impart you all the knowledge about the internet that we have gathered but also focus individually on your blog/ future blog and possible things you can do. After 5 days, we would constantly be in touch through phone and email with all our students and help them make day-to-day blogging decisions.

4. How much can you earn from blogging?

Although Adsense does not let you reveal your income there are people who have revealed their blogging income.

1. Shoe Money Adsense Cheque
You can check the details of the famous picture of The Adsense Check for $132,994.97 from the founder of Shoemoney.com.

2. Indian Blogger Amit Agarwal’s Adsense Income
Indian Blogger from Agra, Amit Agarwal of Labnol.org had given a snapshot of his daily earnings here: http://labnol.blogspot.in/2006/07/how-much-money-do-i-make-from-adsense.html Remember that these earnings were in 2006. His traffic has increased since then.

IMBB, like Labnol.org, is one of the few Indian blogs which are Premium Adsense Publishers.

5. Can I deposit cash in your account?

You can. But you would have to email immediately to let us know about it so that we can track your payment and confirm it to you. Again, our bank details are:
Bank Name: Standard Chartered Bank
Account Name: LA Edukreation Pvt Ltd
Account Number: 52105066113
Branch: Greater Kailash 1, New Delhi
Type: Current Account
IFSC Code: SCBL0036033

6. Is this course going to be online?

We have no plans at all to make an online course. We are sorry but we are not into business of teaching blogging courses. We are into running a beauty blog. We do not have time to develop an online course. We would rather devote our time to growing IMBB.

    1. Really sorry Tejinder but we are not very pro of teaching this course online. We have done online teaching a lot in the past and it is not easy to help students understand. Besides, every individual and every blog is different and an online course cannot differentiate that. Individual needs can only be discovered through conversations. And we would also love to know people we are training and see how their blogs are doing. πŸ™‚

Where will the sessions happen in Delhi?

    1. Hi Aarbee,

yes it’s okay to register even if you don’t have a blog. The sessions will be at TathaGat center in Connaught Place. Will email you the complete address once you register. πŸ™‚

  13. I really really wanna register? Any plans for a course in Mumbai??? *cry* *cry* Plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  14. Sanjeev Ji and Wifey you guys are doing a FAB job! Love what you say about Buying a Car instead of those bags, Wifey bought *hihi*

  15. Sanjeev Ji,

I think I’ll travel to Delhi for a week. But I do not have any1 living there… If I email you could you guide me a bit about the nearest hotel to stay? I’m so sorry asking you this but as you are from Delhi, thought it would be better if I ask you directly. Also are there limited seats or something coz i’ll still atleast take 3 days to speak to parents and book tickets and ask for leaves from work and stuff? *thankyou*

    1. Hi Vidhi,

Let me find out something for you. You also enquire at your end meanwhile. πŸ™‚

Although we have not mentioned in the post we have a figure of around 25- 30 persons in mind. More than this and we would not be able to discuss every blog personally.

      1. Oh Ok, thank you so much… No worries I will find out something from here.. I do not have a functioning blog as of now. Hope that’s ok! πŸ™‚

                  1. Yessss Jomol! *happydance* *happy dance* *happy dance* *happy dance* I sooooo wish I could meet u or Atleast see you der *shy*

  16. Awesome initative Sanjeev ji…. *thankyou*
I would have loved to take this cource, but there is no way i can come to delhi that time… have deadlines to meet in office…
If possible can you do an online class too… just incase if it works it will be great for people like me who are not in Delhi πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Sweta, The whole idea about the course is of discussion and generating ideas to make a blog work. We would discuss all the tools in details but tools are just tools, they can only help you if you know what you are doing. In an online course, we would just publish articles or videos for you to go through and it would benefit no one.

  17. I totally see you moving to Venice πŸ˜€ congrats & grt venture πŸ™‚
If & when you decie to do this online or over skype, i’ll be the 1st one to enroll πŸ™‚ till then, happy dance for you guys πŸ˜€

  29. Dear Sanjeev and Rati,
I have been a silent follower of your blog since the last 2 years and have always felt inspired by you. I have been blogging for more than 5 years now and my husband is into seo and has been doing good job of it since last 1 year , i have been telling him often about your blog and how inspiring both of you are. Yours is a truly beautiful life with such hard work and vision thrown into it, I wish I could meet you in person and tell you this. Since we would be travelling to our native place after 2 years adn our parents and our kids are counting days, we would have to miss this but neverthless… you had the good intentions to share your success story tells a lot about you and your growing sucess. God bless both of you always.

Take care and be the same
    Rekha

  30. Sanjeev,

Finally my question is answered about how the hell you guys manage to travel and spend so much πŸ™‚ I know I sound jealous but I also realize (and appreciate) that reaching where you have wasn’t a catwalk (read cakewalk) for either of you. I would have absolutely loved to do this course but around the same time I am moving for good to Bengaluru (from Mumbai) with family (incl. 2 kids under 5yrs). Do you think it might be possible for you to record this course and make it available for others who couldn’t attend for a fee?

    Thanks
    Smita

  31. this is an AWESOME news!!!!!!! *happy dance* *happy dance* *happy dance*
can i deposit the fee in cash at scb’s branch in my city??

    1. Hi Misha,

      Yes you can πŸ™‚

Sorry, just got my tooth extracted so taking long time to comment. Lips all swollen because of anesthesia. πŸ˜€

        1. Hihihihihi Jomol ji, although it didn’t take time, the whole experience was quite scary..the way that dentist was trying to break my tooth with that screwdriver kind of thing *shock* *shock*

          1. OMG, Sanjeevji, there are only two things I am scared of in my life…..lizards and dentists….SCREWDRIVER thing *scared* *scared* *scared* *scared* *scared*

  32. Sanjeev,
What a fabulous article!! Always been a fan of your writing.. Would love to join this course.. it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity!!! Is the course still open?

      1. I saw the tons of comments and thought it’ll close in hours only.. People will be like, *duel* to get in πŸ˜›

        1. Oh I think people will take their time, as they should. As of today they would have to really question themselves whether they are considering blogging a career or not. I think they would take time for sure. πŸ™‚

          1. You’re right. Once again, congratulations on this fabulous initiative.. I am sure it’s gonna be a big success. All the best to Rati, you and the team.. πŸ™‚

  33. Hi sanjeev

I am quite interested for the course , but i hav certain queries
what all we get to learn form this course of yours , is it compulsory that one should be sound with
    computer software knowledge like html

    1. Hi Pavitra,

no you don’t need to be… also the code for minor changes that you need to perform can be found online as it is. Also, even after the course we would be monitoring your blog and counselling so we would help you with that also.

  34. such a beautiful hearts you guys have ji…bless you and didi…though i would love to…..since i will be starting a blog soon…but not beauty related….i cant come right now…hope you will be able to make it more broad….and expand every where….everything……god bless you and imbb…for all the years to come…you guys rock….such innovative and considerating ideas…beautiful indeed

  35. congrats *jai ho* *jai ho* *jai ho* rati & Sanjeev… I really wished to join the course… i would like to request u to make it available online… as that will suit most of the pp like me.. *specs* *specs* *specs* *specs*

  36. Sanjeev and Rati, can I pls know why you are against online training. I don’t think it’s difficult guys, believe me. I took an online software course! When they could teach that, I think taking this course online would be much easier. Good friend webinar tho haina *happy dance* Think about it guys… almost ALL the comments here are requesting that. You would be able to share your knowledge with much more people that way.
All being said, I am still joining even if it’s in Delhi *happydance* but I feel it’d be much more comfortable if it’s online considering we (me and hubby) both would have to travel with a lil one in tow *scared* I am from Hyd btw πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Tanvi,

Let’s just say we want to give our personal touch to this course. If this is going to be our first of many batches let it be special. πŸ™‚

  37. What about us who live abroad? I could have attended it even if I would have stayed in different city in India but I can’t come from here πŸ™ Do something for us na ! I always wonder how people make money from blog especially you guys..yup there must be a hard work behind it but trust me there are many hard workers out there. You guys are smart!! *jai ho* Would have loved to attend the course..all the best for it! πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Falak, I can’t help you in shifting the dates of the course. Maybe you can join us after your exam if possible. I am assuming it’s during the day.

      1. have my exam from 2 to 5 p.m..awkward timings
may be next time will attend…

  40. Thats some NEWS! In fact a great News!
We could have met on June 10th had it been intimated a little earlier *haan ji* . Corporates(Branding & Marketing for SaaS) like me need an early intimation you see . I stay in Bangalore, would still have attended but, you know…. *nababana*
Delhi was one place I was aspiring to visit after seeing and hearing all about Karol bagh, Chandni Chauk, Sarojini street, Janpath and all monuments nearby *powder* .

Look forward to the next batch. I know it would happen *hifive* ! All the very Best!! *hihi*
