ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush and Blending Eye Brush Review

ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush and Blending Eye Brush Review

Good makeup brushes are must for easy makeup application. Finding the right tool would make life much easier. There are so many brands that sell brushes across a wide price range. Most of the high-end (read pricier) brushes perform well, but some brands offer brushes at low cost, which perform well too. It is just that we have to find them from the lot 🙂

ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush and Blending Eye Brush Review

ELF is one such brand that provides makeup brushes from just a dollar on.  I have bought just two of ELF brushes to see how they really work given that   they are priced so low; one is the ELF Essential Eye Shadow Brush and the other is ELF Blending Eye Brush.  They are a dollar each. Let’s know in detail about each one of them 🙂

ELF Essential Eye Shadow Brush:

What is it?

EyeShadowSideView

Specially sheered brush tip absorbs the perfect amount of eye shadow and provides long lasting color saturation. The comfort curved brush contours the eye with natural gliding strokes for easy and accurate eye shadow application.  All ELF professional makeup brushes have been designed and tested by our professional team of makeup artists. Each brush has been ergonomically designed to fit perfectly into your hand and facilitate a flawless finish with every application.

My Experience with ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush:

EyeShadow1

This is the traditional eye shadow brush. It is a tad bit smaller than my Sigma eye shadow brush, but the size would make it ideal for ladies with small eye area to work with. The handle is made of very lightweight wood and painted in a pearly white color.  The bristles are soft enough and it packs the color pretty well on the lids. The major issue with this brush is shedding. It sheds like crazy. Just running the finger over the bristles would pull out 3-4 hair out of the brush, which is awful.  I have this brush for about 3 months now and the shedding has not stopped yet. I know it is just a dollar, but I don’t want the brush to become bald in a few months.

ELF Essential Blending Eye Brush :

What is it ?

Expertly blends multiple eye shades while softening dramatic edges and fine lines. Using a blending eye brush after shadow and liner application creates a natural finish to any eye look. This brush can also multitask – use it to set powder or liquid concealer.

My Experience with ELF Essential Blending Eye Brush:

Blending1

This brush has shorter bristles unlike traditional blending brushes. The bristles are pretty soft and kind of closely packed, but I would expect my blending brush to be a little fluffy and have longer bristles, so that I can blend in colors with ease. This one is good for applying color in the crease and blending that color.  This sheds even more than the eye shadow brush. You can see a couple of brush hair in the picture as well. My brush has already reduced to 10% its size.

Pros of ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush and Blending Eye Brush:

  • Very cheap (price).
  • Lightweight.
  • Size of the brush is good for people with small eyes.
  • Bristles are soft and does not irritate the skin.

Cons of ELF Essential Eyeshadow Brush and Blending Eye Brush:

  • These brushes shed crazily.
  • Blending brush bristles could have been a bit longer and fluffier.
  • Not easily available in India.

Final Word:

These brushes would fit the bill perfectly if you are new to makeup and if you just want some brushes to practice. They are very budget friendly for that. As you master the art of makeup, you may invest in high-end brushes.

    good review dear

  2. i have one brush from elf and it did not shed at all . Wonder why yours shed. Maybe because I ahve the flat eyeshadow application brush and not the fluffy one.

    1. They have only this one in their essentials line. Lucky you .. Looks like I got a baddy… But the other brush shed like crazy.. I’m scared to run my finger over it 😛
