My Experience with Elf Essential Lipstick- Flirtatious:

After seeing Sumera’s review recently it reminded me I also have two of these lipsticks. I wanted to try these lipsticks as I had heard some good things about them . It is available in 12 pretty shades, I actually wanted to pick fearless which Neha has reviewed earlier, but it was out of stock on their website along with few other shades so I ended up randomly picking two shades one of which is this one.

It comes in a very basic and simple silver packaging, the packaging does look cheap from every angle but then at the price it is all you can expect, thankfully it works pretty well and I have not faced any problems so far. The color flirtatious is a very pretty bright but yet slightly subtle almost like a Barbie pink, but not too light and milky and very wearable it will suit most fair to medium skin tones. It works well for me especially when paired with slightly heavy eye makeup, on its own it looks more like a nude pink and makes me looks slightly tanned, I like it more with a lip gloss on top. In all it is a unique shade and I quite like it. The shade will look different on different skin tones; on me it looks slightly cool toned as I have yellow undertones. The color is completely matte and has a creamy matte finish.

The texture is moisturizing and not overly creamy and very smooth, as it is matte. It glides on lips easily without a lip balm but looks slightly drying when worn for long and hence it is good to use a lip balm underneath it. It is definitely not the best to wear when you are suffering from dry lips as it does accentuate lines and but that can be overcomedby using a gloss on top. It has no noticeable smell to it.
The pigmentation is quite good in a single swipe you get most of the color payoff, and two swipes gives a full opaque coverage to cover lip pigmentation. Even after layering it never looks thick or cakey nor does it feel uncomfortable on lips. It will work very well for pigmented lips. Because it is matte on its own it last for 3-4 hours after which it starts fading mainly from the center of lips. There is minimal transferring with this one and it does survive light meals with slight fading, but I have never noticed feathering or anything with this shade. After fading it leaves behind a subtle pink stain.
