ELF Mineral Make-up Foundation SPF 15 Review

ELF Mineral Make-up Foundation SPF 15

Everyone deep into make-up must be aware of the mineral make-up category. We often come across articles regarding the harmful effects of chemicals on our skin; so when I see something “mineral make-up”, I am readily tempted. A pressed powder and a lipstick are my go to products in daily routine. Having a combination skin, I even dab pressed powder over BB cream :P; finishing my pots quickly which gives me an opportunity to try newer products every few months. ELF Natural Mineral Make-up Foundation containing SPF 15 has been on my wish list since I saw it on their website and finally got hold of this. This is my first loose powder foundation. Let’s see how this worked for me.

My experience with ELF Mineral Make-up Foundation SPF 15:

Though this is a loose powder, but the brand considers it in the category of foundation.
Packaging: the product comes in a round jar, with a tray inside and lid that closes tightly. Appropriate amount dispenses from the tray holes on shaking.

I am NC-25 so I chose to order shade Fair. This loose powder is to be applied with a powder brush or a kabuki brush. The application is trouble free. The product is really very light weight on skin. The power is very smooth and finely milled. A little amount goes a long way to cover the desired areas. Coverage of ELF Mineral Make-up Foundation is medium-high; depending on how much you apply and in how many layers. It can be easily blended by circular motions of the brush, and blends really well without much effort or looking cakey. For very prominent scars and acne marks, you may need an added concealer underneath. The finish is lovely because I dislike dead matte face and prefer somewhat semi-matte and luminous finfish, except in summer. So this is very ideal to me because of the pretty luminous finish it gives to my face. This one is an excellent option for lazy days when you don’t have time and energy to put on a foundation; use this and you are ready to step-out with a perfectly fresh and radiant look. Also, it keeps my t-zone matte for 4 hours atleast, which is good for me because my t-zone gets shiny very fast. The plus point of SPF 15 keeps me worry free to skip the sun block. It has never clogged my pores and I have never experienced breakouts with such a lovely product. The added benefits of mineral product, SPF 15 and coverage make it desirable for daily use.
