ELF Studio Pigment Eyeshadow – Golden Goddess Review

ELF Studio Pigment Eyeshadow – Golden Goddess Review

Hello Ladies,

I am reviewing a pigment eyeshadow from ELF here. There are about ten shades available in this range and the shade that I’m going to review is Golden Goddess.

Product Description by ELF:

Create a bold and beautiful statement with these jewel-toned, multi-dimensional pigments that impart lustrous high-color payoff and long-lasting wear. The buildable, powdery-fine formula blends seamlessly for ease of application and can be layered for a variety of looks. From soft and neutral to strikingly colorful these silky and shimmery shades compliment every eye color for a fun, flirty look. Eyeshadow Brush included.

Price:

3 USD

Packaging:

The eyeshadow comes in a little tub packaging with a shake top. The packaging is sturdy and cute. It comes with a small eyeshadow brush. The brush didn’t help me much to work with the eyeshadow. I personally prefer my eyeshadow brush to this. I didn’t picture the brush as I might have already lost this brush or I am not able to identify it from the set of small brushes that come with eyeshadows and liners. You can see it in the ELF website.

Product:

It’s a pretty metallic pigment eyeshadow. When you apply a thin layer of it and blend it well, the shimmer is just right and is not very glittery that most of us would be hesitant to wear it. You can pack more eyeshadow if you want more intense color. The color is not a bright gold and looks more like antique gold.

Pigmentation:

This eyeshadow is highly pigmented even without a primer, but applying after a primer gives more intense color to the shadow and helps it last long. You can apply it on top of other dark eyeshadows to have a golden touch to them. I like it both the ways.

Texture:

The texture of the eyeshadow is very fine. The eyeshadow goes on smooth and there are no chunky glitters. You would notice a lot of shimmer though.  The product is easy to work with an eyeshadow brush; however, there are major fallouts when you apply it. I have added a blurred pic to show the amount of glitter in it.

Longevity:

I have oily lids. So, I don’t even imagine myself using this without a base. On my eyes, with a primer this product lasts for around 3 hours. Also, it starts fading after some time and doesn’t have the same intensity when it was applied.

My Take on ELF Studio Pigment Eyeshadow – Golden Goddess:

The eyeshadow is flexible and blends well like any other shadow which might be a problem with pigments. With a primer or base, it stays there for around 3 hours without much creasing. I like the product more for its texture and color. If you don’t remove the shake top lid, it’s kind of difficult to get the product out as the pores are really small.

One thing that is very negative about the product is that there are fallouts when you apply. It is messy and the shimmers tend to stick around the eye area. When you use this product, it’s better to finish your eye makeup first and start with your face. I have not used other pigments and I think fallouts are common with pigments.

What I Do Not Like about ELF Studio Pigment Eyeshadow – Golden Goddess:

  • Needs a base/primer underneath.
  • Major fallout and messy.
  • Fades after some time.
  • Difficult to get the product out of the shake top lid. So, remove it.

IMBB Rating:

3.8/5

Do I Recommend ELF Studio Pigment Eyeshadow – Golden Goddess?

This is a beautiful pigment eyeshadow. If you are strong enough to handle the fallout, then getting it for 3$ wouldn’t hurt 🙂
