I cannot even start to explain how blessed I feel to be a part of IMBB; not just having a job that is your passion, but having such awesome lovely bosses and colleagues is like having the cherry on the top of the cake. We are so spoilt by our bosses that we get monthly doses of pampering in terms of gorgeous makeup. Here is the review of one such product that I picked up on behalf of IMBB.

I have been high on lip liners since I reaped the benefits of lip lining and since then there has been no looking back. Now I never put on a lipstick without a liner. I picked up 4 of these beauties and I’ll be reviewing the softest shade today in the name Ballet Blush.

My experience with Elizabeth Arden #05 Ballet Blush Beautiful Color Precision Glide Lip Liner:

Let us start with the packaging. A lot to mention in this aspect. The outer golden/silver paper carton looks lovely and luxurious. All details about the product has been mentioned on the carton including the ingredients and product description. The shade name and number has also been mentioned, so if you have more than one of these and want to retain the outer carton, you can definitely do that. The pencil is handy in size and has a plastic body. The rubberized grip gives a better hold of the pencil and ensures smoother application. The cap is sturdy black plastic and shuts with a click. It has twist up mechanism and thankfully it twists back as well; unlike the others from a different range in the same brand. At the rear end is color coded band which again helps in spotting the pencil in the stash. Also there is a plastic capped smudger and a tip sharpener. For those who like sharp tips, can always use the sharpener which works just fine.
The texture of the lip liner is very smooth but not creamy. On swatching the liner feels supple on the arm, but on the lips, they are a bit drying. I do not mind this as lip liners are meant to hold on the lip color, if they move or slip themselves, there is hardly any point in applying them. One word of advice here would be to not smudge the lips together as we always tend to do. That would make the application patchy and that would not be a very pretty sight.

The shade is nude with beige undertones and will go with most of the shades if you wish to cover pigmented lips before putting on a light shade. That way the lighter shade would show up well without hampering the original shade of the lipstick. If you are planning to wear on its own, you need to apply a balm on top/below or a gloss to keep your lips hydrated. You just cannot wear it alone. There is a mild cosmetic smell to the liner which vanishes after application so it is not bothersome.

Overall it is a nice neutral shade that can be paired with lots of shades or to cover pigmented lips. Though it is not something that is totally unique, there are dupes available in the market, but if you like to treat yourself with a bit of luxury, go for it.
