Howdy? How is the summer treating you? All of us love to have that lip color which is ideal from summer-spring wear. So today I’ll be reviewing a lovely shade from Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipstick range!
Price: $20 for 0.14 ounce (in India, around INR 3000!), expensive, I know!

My Take on Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipstick – Wild Winterberry:
Packaging: The lipstick comes packed in a black case with golden details. The bottom half that holds the bullet is black while the other half is gold in color!! The bottom showcases the name of the shade! It looks flimsy, maybe because I own the older version of this baby, but it’s sturdy. The new packaging is classic and looks really beautiful! I’m yet to get mine.
Color: Before I opened this beauty, I thought it is more of a fall shade, more on the vampy side, like a dark maroon or something! But, to my surprise the shade was more on the browner side. It looks more brown-y in the packaging, but it does have those pretty orange undertones. I love the burnt orange tint it gives to my lips and adds to the glow on my face. It looks exceptional on any skin tone and the best part is that it is a BANG-ON summer shade! I can assure you that the color is beautiful, because I am not really an orange lipstick person.
Color pay-off: The color pay-off is great. One swipe is good to cover pigmented lips, but I prefer going over the shade twice just to add intensity. It delivers what it promises, intense color! Girls with pigmented lips can use this lippie without a second thought; the pigmentation will not show up one bit, as it applies evenly.
Texture: Again, true to the claims, it glides on smoothly and gives a pretty sheen to the lips. It doesn’t make my lips feel crusty, but I feel it does settle somewhat into fine lines. I love the hydrating properties of this lipstick, as you will not feel the need to apply a lip balm prior application. Due to the moisturizing properties, it does tend to transfer a bit, but that is a trait of creamy lipsticks so cannot complain.
Staying power: Well, honestly, I’m not very sure about the lasting capacity of this lipstick. I have not worn it longer than 4 hours, and it does wear off a little by 2 hours. I wouldn’t state that it has an amazing staying capacity, being a high-end makeup product; I expected it to last longer!

• The older packaging looks flimsy.
• Staying power not great at all.
• Is too pricey.
• May not be easily available in India.

Ummm…I prefer being neutral here! Because, this is a great buy for people on the hunt for the perfect summer lip color! However, the price is too high!

I got mine as a gift, but I don’t think I’d want to invest so much in a lipstick despite all the good things it offers.
