I have bought quite a few of Elle 18 lipsticks lately. So here’s the review of yet another shade.

My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Café Atreyi:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a black plastic tube, with a black cap that has a picture of a girl. I find it extremely cute though it is flimsy. It is sturdy enough and can be flung into handbags. I would’ve liked if these were color coded, since it would be easy to locate the shades. The shade name and number is printed on a sticker stuck at the bottom of the tube.
Shade: Café Atreyi is a nude-brown with silver shimmers. The color intensity is a bit low. The shimmers are not that chunky, but are evident enough. This shade will not suit dusky beauties that much. These kinds of shades go well with heavy eye makeup.
Texture: The lipstick bullet has two parts, a balmy core surrounded by the actual color. The texture of the lipstick is balmy and light. Even though it does not settle in fine lines, it tends to dry out lips eventually. The texture of this one is not that soft compared to the other shades, maybe because of the shimmers that make it gritty.
Pigmentation: This shade has average pigmentation. I need 2-3 swipes to get complete color on. Since the shade is not that bright, I don’t think it covers pigmented lips that well. I like to wear it with a gloss on top. The color intensity is not buildable either.
Staying power: Again, just like other shades, even this one is no different when it comes to transferring. Even the slightest of touch and it transfers everywhere. It hardly survives a meal and after the color fades the shimmers travel all over. It lasts for about 1.5-2 hours with light meals, since this is a pale color. It does not leave any tint behind.

• Glides smoothly on lips.

Cons of Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Café Atreyi:
• Packaging may feel flimsy.
• Transfers.
• Shimmers travel all over after color fades.
• Pigmentation and color pay-off could have been better.
• Won’t suit all skin tones.

If you are into bright and vibrant shades, then this is a skip. I won’t be getting this one again.

Not a huge fan of shimmer in lipsticks but the price is pretty affordable.
