Elle 18 Nail Pops: 47 and 04 and a Lipstick and an Eyeshadow To Go With It!

Elle 18 Nail Pops: 47 and 04 and a Lipstick and an Eyeshadow To Go With It!

Elle 18 Nail Pops

It’s been a while since the Elle 18 color bombs collection came out and all new revamped Elle 18 hit the market. I still can’t stop laughing at the stupid colourful ad that they came up with “I am the bomb, I am the bomb”…..blah. This is just old wine in a new bottle, but I had to try some. I picked up two lipsticks, kajal, liquid liner, all the eye sparklers and two nail enamels (yeah that very well covers the whole collection :silly:).

Second

The nail enamels this time are very nicely packaged and Rs. 45 for 5 ml doesn’t hurt the pocket or the wardrobe as they get over in just around 30 coats on my finger nails. They have so many basic colors like reds, maroons, and pearly whites and pinks while there are some different ones as well like the glitter golden, hot pinks, and lilacs. So, here are the two shades I really loved from the plethora available: number 04 and 47.

Price:

Rs. 45 for 5 ml.

Available at most local grocery stores in Chennai like Heritage, Ayyanar Super Market.

I got these from Mega Shop on Arcott Road, where these were dumped into a huge tub and looked like colourful rounded stones. I had a hard time selecting from them as they were mostly maroons and glittery reds suited for bridal wear. I could only see a pretty blue, lilac, the pink that I got and a silver one as well. There were probably the few pieces left of these pretty ones.  I was tempted to pick up a pearly white, the frosty blue, and the greyish silver one too, but had to hold back. The pink 47 was a color I did not have actually and it was kind of hot for me, so I thought it’s best to try the small version of this color. I did not have a lilac either, though this one does not go opaque in one coat, I need at least three.

The brush is almost like a joke to me as it was so thin and not at all flat. The length was also so less I doubt whether it reaches the bottom of the already less quantity of nail color.

Third

Both the colors I got were creamy sans glitter/shimmer and have a high glossy finish. The pink is a carrot coral kind of pink and goes opaque in one finish, although I prefer to go for two coats.

Fourth

The lilac one is very translucent and almost like a lilac colored base coat. It looks so deep in the bottle, but the consistency is very light and not at all pigmented. To get close to the color in the bottle, you will need three coats at least.

Fifth

The brush gives me a hard time as I need to go again into the bottle several times for one nail. It takes average time to dry and stays put for three days max (that depends on what your finger nails go through). In my case, I don’t keep a nail paint one for more than 4 days, so this is decent for me. To stay away from yellow nails, I keep my nails uncoloured and color them when I go out. So, the color would look fresh for some time at least.

Pros:

  • Beautiful colors.
  • Pretty packaging.
  • Good quality.
  • Great price.

Cons:

  • Stupid brush.
  • Availability.
  • Availability of most pretty shades is a problem.
  • Super less quantity.

A lipstick to match the 47 shade:

Sixth

I am not a matchy matchy kind of person, but I just found my old Oriflame Visions lipstick in pink berry to match the nail paint 47 exactly. I would like to wear both together some time

Seventh

An eye shadow to go with the nail paint in 04:

Eighth

Ninth

I got an Avon powder eyeshadow called Precision Glimmer Powder Eyeshadow in a lilac color in “Petal.” I don’t think I will get so matchy with nail paint and eye shadow :struggle:, but I just wanted to show it to you guys. Yeah, happiness in small things!

Last Word:

It would last me 30 coats on finger nails maximum, so if I really like a color and don’t find it again, I will have a hard time. So many colors to chose from in 45 rupees, I don’t mind getting matching ones.

Rating:

3.5 on 5.
