New Year´s Celebration Giveaway (CLOSED NOW!)
Maybe some of you remember my mini giveaway a few weeks ago 🙂
Bulbul was one of the winners and I attached a trial size of the ALVA night cream to her prize. It took about two weeks till the registered letter arrived at her place and she was so happy about winning the eyeshadow and wrote such nice review, it really touched my heart. After reading her post I decided to to another giveaway for you lovely ladies on IMBB and discussed this with Rati. Due to the fact that Rati and me already had planned to do a makeup exchange I had the chance to send all the giveaway prizes to India – they arrived in Delhi last Wednesday with the makeup exchange products :yahoo:
Bulbul wrote in her post that she fell in love with ALVA and so I decided to go for this brand for the giveaway. Well..as for me 2010 was academically special..I topped my Department in Mtech twice in a succession..and the last time’s marks being a record score in the dept 🙂 🙂 and twas in 2010 that I learned so much on makeup n beauty and could fulfill my long cherished dream of writing in beauty blog…In 2011 I want to pursue my academics with equal flare and enjoy life at the same time 🙂 🙂 Hope I keep learning on makeup and perfecting the art of it.. :heart: :heart: :heart: to IMBB 🙂

No new year resolutions for me this year. I’ve realised I don’t do them very well. But I plan on being extremely optimistic this year and not let anything get me down. I also start my first job and I plan on being awesome at it. I also want to learn sewing so I can make (or atleast fix) my own clothes, atleast some of them. I want to finish all the books in my reading list (this has been pending for a while).
And I also need to lose a bit of weight and I have been very inconsistent with that. So, I’m going to make a sincere and honest effort this time.

2010 gav me mixed experiences.. Starting of the year tuk away ma swt grandpa.. Middle gav me a gudnews in ma academic results as i cleared one group of CA Intermediate exams.. Also after a really long time an going to be home without running off after a vacaqtion so its back to living with family and being patient and loving even when things go crazy and not acc to plan…

-2010 was one of my favourite years! for the simple reason that I de-cluttered my life which was pretty messed up the year before.
I started my blog, something I kept on hold forever. (thank you Rads:-*)
and I spent quality time with family, and most of all.. I fell in love with myself! 🙂
I am really happy with myself finally after all these years of self-beating. I am taking good care of myself and intend to do so forever. I really needed a push though, this happened after a broken back and broken friendships and a relationship.
2010 was my year. A new start and a chance I gave myself, this was something I never did before. I had my family and my friends by me, who patiently waited for me to be back. 2011, I plan on spending quality time with family friends and myself.
I really wish all of us would give ourselves all that we deserve!:)

There was lots that i have learned through 2010 but one of the most imp. things i realized was ” What we think is best for us is not really the best always. God has different plans for us but whatever plans he has .. happens for our best.” I have learned to submit my complete faith to Lord. And in 2011 i hope i can continue to do so 🙂

Devie, for me last year was overall fantabulous and I would also like to credit it to IMBB . I mean it had made my worst days so cheerful and everything ended pretty well for me. Whole of 2010, I was struggling to lose the last 6 kg I gained during pregnancy. I reduced 9 kg in 2009 but in 2010 not even a single kg. I want to lose that remaining kg in 2011, and I have become a vegetarian, and I would not be taking egg and egg products too.
Secondly, I am investing my time and money and learning to take care of my skin and do makeup after reading this blog. So thanks to all.

For 2010, i came across this lovely blog around Dec 2010 as that was the point where i started looking for makeup tips for brides(Getting married in March 2011 🙂 ). It was the FIRST EVER BLOG which i SUBSCRIBED to. When i started following i didn’t knew its such a vast bunch of beautiful people….from here i came to knew Rati, Deeptima, Rima, u n all(by names n their beautiful blogs :)).
For me in 2011, i have just one small short term resolution, “I WANNA LOOK BEAUTIFUL ON MY BIG DAY” n also later on…….and for this i will dig up the whole blog like anything and will get the best possible thing recommended out here.

2010 was an amazing year for me, I had so much success and travelled a lot, it was fantastic. This year I’ll graduate from high school and go to Hong Kong for a year then!
Hongkong is amazing, I was there during my college time as well (via Erasmus, Europe student exchange prgram) – that was before 1999. I remember it as a very nice year :))
Well… and my English was much better at that time 😆
I grew up in foreign countries, having seeing litterally EVERY country except for the cities Hong Kong, Dublin and the continent Australia, and that’s what I’m gonna change, starting as a nanny in Hong Kong and then planning some trips here and there hahaha
This sounds like you family was trafeling a lot – I can imagine this could be amazing on one side and also difficult on the other – especially for children. I came to Germany one month before my sixth birthday… and it was not easy at all at the beginning – different language, different culture, different people.

Oh I grew up with travelling, I’m kinda spoiled lol that’s why I’ll be a flight attendant soon, it’s the perfect job for me.
I was born in Berlin, then left for 8 yrs and came back for primary school and have been outta town like every weekend and during spring, summer, fall and winter break 🙂 So it was amazing. I have family and friends all over the world and seriously… living in the Caribbean is definitely better than being here in Germany – –

Yes, fluent and without accent – I am part of the so-called “second generation”. :)) I studied German as well (German, media studies and communication science – oder, auf Deutsch: Germanistik, Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaften – der alte Magister, der noch etwas taugte; die Masterabschlüsse sind heute ja nur noch abgespeckte Magister, wirklich grausig, wie wenig da noch gelernt wird *grusel* edit/transl: I am stressing on how good the old german Magister Artium studies were and how bad in my oppinion the anglo-american system is – today a Master means something we used to learn in two years before they switched the system). After some years working as a communications consultant I decided to go for the MBA – and I did. :))

Thats what I did several years ago. Was not looking for it but I met the Croatian Consul´s wife (Croatia is the country I come from) on a charity party in Düsseldorf in the early 90ies. She was looking for someone doing her make up and recommended me to a lot of interesting clients. I am not doing this anmore as my main job but the contacts remained and now other MUAs participate.
Another thing I would suggest to do is: Find a photographer, doesn´t have to be a professional, mostly the passionated semi-professionals or people with a simple passion for photography and a good cam are better anyway. Means: Somebody you can work with and who has the opportunity to make very good photos of your work 🙂 An up-to-date portfolio is important if you want to attract people. Another good thing about this is that you get used to different photography techniques, studio fl. photography and so on. Needs different make up.

2010 wasn’t realy a good year for me..I got leuchemy and was in hospital for 6 months (now I’m at home till monday), I didn’t win any prizes and didn’t travel anywhere. so I hope 2011 will be a better year. a more healthier at least!

My plans for 2011 is to become a certified Personal Support Worker by April and get a job working as one by summer. I hope by the end of 2011, I can be accepted to the Nursing program. Other plans are to lose weight and cut down on eating in restaurants and junk food, become healthier. I also plan not to buy too much MAC makeup and consider other brands including drugstore brands as the quality might just be the same or similar for a lesser price. Other beauty plans include throwing out mascaras after 3 months of usage, better skin care, and use up my makeup before buying more. There is just so much ! lol! I also need to save up money and buy less so I can actually pay off my debts and have a better credit score ! =)

The last half of 2010 is quite a pain. I found myself gaining pounds months after months. Then the 3rd week of December 2010 came and my family and I decided to spend some quality time at Enchanted Kingdom. In one of the rides called “The Swan Lake”, I hopped into the swan-like boat with my younger sister and one of the tenants whisper in my ear, “Miss, I guess we’re overloading, I’m sorry”. An instant slap on my face. :spank: We decided that my dad replace me. From that moment in time, I promise to myself that I will LOSE WEIGHT, I MUST. I dedicate my site. to my neverending quest for a healthy lifestyle (so help me God). But nevertheless, I won’t deprive myself with some sumptuous delicacies. HAHA. And I’m being positive towards my goal this year. I got a feeling that 2011 is my year. So help me God (always.) O:)

my granny(mom’s mom) started taking care of her health ,diet n exercise from when she was young and today at the age of 80+ she can still do everything like go to the market,live alone,do housework,wakes up early does yoga,goes for a walk etc.Thank God she has no bp,diabetes,heart prob etc ..and she has had many falls but luckily her bones are still strong and nuthing happened to her except for sum minor sprain….
on the other hand my husbands granny is also 80+ but she is in a very bad shape…she has severe osteoporosis and she’s fallen like 3 times and has had 3 major fractures and is now bed ridden..she has been living a very sedentary lifestyle,..no walking…not eating healthy calcium rich foods,no exercise etc…
this has been an eye opener for me …
4/start a course in may-june.(beauty or nutrition…yet to decide)
this one cos i didnt get a chance to complete my education…my dad was ill and he passed away when i was around 19…i prefered to look after the family business and be with my mom and let my brothers study instead…i have no regrets at all…but since sum time ive been wanting to study but i’ve not gotten a chance or rather been lazy 🙁
5/not to get tempted buying cosmetics im not sure whether i will use.and make max use of what i have..
the above cos i’ve bought too many cosmetics out of temptation…not even used them and have finally given them away to people who cant afford…sum people might be thinking fair enuff…but i think wants and desires are never ending and i have to finally learn how to control…buy only what i am sure i will make good use of…it’s hard earned money after all…

A lot of wonderful things happened to me this year… I found a loving boyfriend and I got the job I love without even applying for it! One of the nicest things that happened to me was moving back to my home in gurgaon from pune.It also meant switching from one boring job to another :silly: incidentally I work in d IT sector.
That brings me to d 2nd thing…while getting bored to death in office,I discovered this wonderful site where all of a sudden ,every one of my queries regd. skin care and make up were starting 2 get resolved.I was a complete novice who dint kno the ABCs of foundations,blush etc. I still don’t,but learning each day .The fancy brands in glitzy malls which meant nothing to me some time back ,feel very familiar and attractive to me now…
Coming to 2011 plans –
I plan to earn more to buy more :toothygrin: going gaga over all d stuff reviewed here, esp mac.
Also,the good ol’ loosing some weight

2010 was a year packed with many experiences…my first job! a new city, new frends… colleagues…earning for the first time, my first lippie (hehe)…though all of it might sound like great learning experience it was rather a year that brought forward all my faults and negative points..just on 29 Dec of last year had an intense discussion with my bro and dad which gave me answers to how i can improve on ma bad points and be more responsible about my actions. and this year as i will be turning 21 and again making a fresh start in a new city for my post grad, i knew it is time for me to have this fresh start as an opportunity to learn from my mistakes and become a better person who is wiser and more mature. so that i can rightfully be called a 21 year old ‘adult’. 🙂 time to drift from a girl to women! that’s what 2011 has in store for me! :blush: :blush:

what happened to me in 2010 was .. my Annual Dinner of University held on 14th feb , 2010.. I got done by salon , It was sunday , and I had booked a photographer to take my pics .. He opened his studio specially for me :yelo:
I was looking very nice .. I was wearing a green and brown dress..
But my hair were not so good .. I got curled .. :smug: they did not suit me well .. so I thought if I had got them straighten or ironed , I would look a lovely and could win lady of the evening title :wilt:
So this helped me make my 2011 resolution that I won’t ever get curls in my hair in 2011.. I will just iron my hair :waytogo:

I was blessed with a daughter, my second child in Jan 2010 & since then Life has been rocking. there is nothing better than seeing my kids bonding & sharing a lovely relationship. I almost always have wet eyes when I see them together.

Coming to new year resolutions:
* Never had weight issues so was always lazy working out. But now decided to work out regularly not only to be fit but also for that glow it leaves on the skin & as we are also plannning for a baby this year.
* Improvise cooking skills in terms of taste & exploring other cuisines.
* Cutting down on my frequent visits( min. of twice monthly) to Mc.Donalds / KFC & Pizza Hut. To be realistic i want it to start with once in a month (jan1st & Feb14th) & then once in two months(apr 29th),on my BD(jul 27th) & wed ann.(aug 24th) & if i strictly follow this on dec 31st 2011.
I am glad i said it…., when we reveal things we tend to stick to them :))

2010 was special for me, for the below reasons
1) My little sister n sister-in-law got married.
2) Got promoted as Manager.
3) Hubby got transferred aftr 2.5 yrs (earlier more than 6 hrs by train, now only 3 hrs)
4) Found IMBB n u all
5) Became a vegetarian

1. Grow my blog, thereafterish., into a real business via Personal Styling Services, Ads, more giveaways and reviews.
2. Audition for local community theater.
3. Quit my job to go to training for the job of my dreams (Esthetics)
4. Grow my writing portfolio so I can eventually, one day, unplug the need to go into a “job” every day.
5. Do one Squeal/Blog/Brag worthy thing a month, be it go somewhere new, do something that frightens me, or just read a book I’ve never finished from cover to cover.
6. Be healthier (with many, many different methods I’ve implemented in the past).
7. Be able to bike 20 miles. Do a 20 mile bike ride for fun.
These are just a few goals, not resolutions, I’d like to accomplish this year, because, by the time 2012 comes along, I’ll be very close to 30 years old, and I want to complete these goals by that time!

For the new year I want to be better about writing in my journal and being more active in some of the communities I’m in. I’m also going to try and downsize a bit more (which I don’t even know how I’m going to manage that because I already downsized a great deal last year) because me and my boyfriend are hoping to be able to move out of our current living situation in August and hopefully into a better one. I’m worried about that, but trying to be hopeful. Not only do I have to downsize my apartment things but then I remember I have a insanely huge storage unit (or really my mom does but it’s up to me to get rid of it and I do have some things stuck in the mix, but it’s a dramatic long story) to clean out and deal with. Right now I’m thinking about the like 15+ boxes of books I have in there and that when I sort them down (which I only really have certain ones in mind I want to keep) I can sell them which is enticing. But that probably won’t take place til this spring/summer when the weather is nicer.

i lost somebody really close to me last year and i realized that life really is short and i want to make the most of it. i have little girl so i want to be healthier physically and emotionally for her so i would be able to enjoy motherhood to the fullest. i’ve decided to take better care of myself by being more conscientious about exercising and dieting. i will start running this year and i’ve decided to lessen significantly my meat intake.
Well, 2010 has been really wonderful. For 2011 my new year’s resolution is all about being more focused! I would like to accomplish more and to do so, I have been practicing for the past few days the art of being focused and not idle. I had a lot of lazy days last yr, hehe, and I think I can achieve more if I work on that aspect of my life and improve for the better
Ok So 2010 was exciting for me in the sense that I finally graduated :)))))…It was such an amazing feeling and also I suddenly felt like a grow up ready to show the world what I’m made of:P..Well the world has to wait since I got admission in Mphil Program:P..Had no idea I had to start studying right after I thought I had finished:P
Ok coming to 2011, I m really hoping to gain a few pounds. :S….I tend to keep shedding off weight due to my bad eating habits. I really hope to start working on that.
Secondly I’m a real spendthrift. I hope to get rid of this bad habit of mine and start saving some cash:P

2) As for 2011 resolutions, I want to take better care of my health as I fell ill quite a lot in 2010. This includes eating well (I’m quite under weight), taking meds when I need to (I’m quite lazy & inconsistent about this) and doing yoga (I love yoga, but I hate doing it by myself). It might not seem like much, but I felt physically very weak in 2010 & I really want to change that this year.

Hrm..talking about my plans for 2011, it would be learn more about skincare and makeup things. Early of 2010 (Maybe march or april), i just started to know more about skincare, it was because i had a serious breakout that time. I’m trying hard to know why is that happened and i came accross forum, reading how people solve this and also people talking about skincare, fashion. I’m amaze, i don’t really read anything online. But after that i’m so into forum, active in comment and reading.
In Nov, i started my own blog!!! But still so new and still learning. Haha… i dont have much time to write and i don’t have a camera so it’s kinda hard for me to took the pic for blog. So i’m kinda slow in posting. Hope 2011 will be a better year.

2. 2010 was very special for me, I got married to the love of my life, wentt to Maldives(last paradise on earth) for honeymoon and life was great except for 2 things.
a.) my husband and I are still stuck with jobs in different cities, that too so far apart
that we need to take ann hour flight to see each other 🙁
b.) i cud not defeat fibromyalgia yet, partly succeeded till i got married but after that got busy with work n stuff.
So 2011 goals are
1. To make sure we move to same place or atleast drivable distance of each other
2. To kick fibromyalgia’s ass , a syndrome caused by unknown reason n giving me pain everyday cant keep me down. I’ll win and fibromyalgia wud lose n once again i’ll live life bindaas without any pain 🙂 beware fibromyalgia here i come

My plans for the new year are to help my son be accepted into a college for next year. He realized at the beginning of this school year he needed to get his grades up. It is a bit too late I’m afraid. So, he and I will continue to apply and hope for the best. Then comes preparing him for the new phase in his life. Oh, boy!

Well, 2010 saw me overcoming some of my worst fears – piercing. I had tried getting my nose pierced three times but came back from the shop after seeing people shouting in pain and even fainting. But finally, in Oct 2010 I went to a qualified cosmetologist with my friend who did it all without any pain at all. And the compliments i got for it, specially from people very close to me, were awesome. Now, thanks to some added makeup knowledge from IMBB, i simple match my nose ornament with my makeup and dress for those special occasions and get all compliments. In 2011, I want to overcome many other fears too.
my resolution for 2011 would be to get 7A in my major exam of this year! STUDY HARD T____T
