My Experience with Essence 01 South Beach Sun Club Glamour To Go Eyeshadow:

Packaging: The palette comes in a rectangular plastic transparent body. The lid is fully transparent which also works as a window to see the colors inside. Over the lid, some graphics along with the brand name are printed in silver font. The lid shuts with a click sound which ensures that it’s securely closed.

You can find the ingredients and the shade name at the bottom of the case. All the shades sit separately on a square pan. The palette comes with a dual ended sponge and brush applicator which is quite good to be used on-the-go. Overall, the packaging looks good and even though it’s made of all plastic, it feels quite sturdy.

Shades: This palette consists of shades which are shimmery, frosty or metallic. This is a complete palette with wearable colors for every skin tone; the shade ranges from four bright and colorful shades to four neutral and highlighting lighter shades. So, you can definitely do many eyeshadow looks with this palette. I have numbered the shades, so that it becomes easy for me to describe the colors.

The very first shade of the first row is a bright and metallic turquoise blue color, and the following second shade is a metallic light tangerine shade, with some yellow undertones to it. The third shade is a deep salmon color; this one is a very neutral color with pearly finish to it. This shade is apt to be used as a crease or transition color. The fourth shade of the row is shimmery beige-ish golden color. The shade is apt for highlighting the inner corners of eyes.

The second row consists of a metallic dull sky blue color. And, next to it is a shimmery mint green color, with loads of golden shimmers to it. Because of the golden undertones to it, this minty green color is suitable for almost every skin tone. Then, next to it is a neutral brown color, with very modest amount of golden shimmers to it. This is one of my favorite colors among all. And, the last shade of the palette is, again, a highlighting shimmery champagne color, also apt to be used on all over the eyelid.

Texture and Finish: The texture of the shadows varies depending on the colors, but they all are quite smooth and soft. The bright and darker colors are kind of crumbly and extremely soft, so there is a minimal fallout during application for the darker colors. I won’t call them chalky or powdery because all the colors are very easily blendable. I think the sponge applicator would be good for the application of such crumbly colors. The neutral shades are quite soft and smooth and not at all crumbly as such. All the shades give a pearly or satiny finish.

Pigmentation: All the shades in this palette are quite pigmented and give good color pay-off when used with a dry brush. Only the deep salmon shade is a little less pigmented in comparison to other shades. As this is a very neutral color, it doesn’t show up prominently on the eyelids. But, the shade is very easily buildable. A few swipes are needed for the color to show up.

Staying Power: The shadows last for a good 3-4 hours without a primer base. And, I didn’t notice creasing of the colors. But, I would recommend using a primer because a few of the shades are crumbly in nature and so a good base is needed to make them stay in place throughout.

Yes, I will recommend this palette to everyone. It has a mix of bright and neutral shades and is apt to travel around with. Most probably, I won’t buy this palette again because it’s going to last long. So, instead of purchasing this same palette, I’ll get my hands on other variants.

  1. Very nice palette for the price, but I prefer matte shades these days. The highlighting shades in this one are beautiful though. Mixed bag for me.
