I recently purchased two eye shadows from Essence. Today, I am going to review the shade 03 Irresistible Choco Cupcake. This one is the most beautiful variant in the whole range. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Essence 03 Irresistible Choco Cupcake 3D Eyeshadow:
Packaging:
Starting with the packaging, this eyeshadow comes in a small round clear plastic container with a clear cap. Clear packaging makes it easy to identify and it is very lightweight too. I am not exactly impressed by the packaging because it is not too study also it doesn’t have any mirror or applicator brush. But if I consider the price, it is quite a nice cute travel friendly packaging. It has a wavy duo design which makes the pan so attractive.
Shade:
This 3D eyeshadow range offers 9 beautiful variants and all the shades are shimmery. This duo eye shadow contains one light highlighting shade and one darker shade. This ‘Irresistible Choco Cupcake’ actually looks like a chocolate cupcake with cream on it. It has one beautiful dark chocolate brown shade that contains fine brown shimmer and the other one is a gorgeous pearly creamy beige shade with beige shimmers. Both the shades look so beautiful! The chocolate shade looks amazing and I can create lots of looks with this shade. The pearly beige shade is also good for highlighting. It acts a 3D shade which makes the eyes appear more beautiful.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation is better than the ‘Irresistible Brazilian Sun’. Both the shades are nicely pigmented. On my finger swatches, they look so pigmented and only one swipe gives deep color intensity. But, on my lids, the shadows look a little less intense. In dry application, they need a little extra swipes for the true color to show up. But, if used in a wet condition, these shadows look super pigmented and perfect.
Quality & Texture:
These eyeshadows have a very smooth and silky texture which blends easily on the eyes without any effort. The texture is super soft and fine. The shadows never feel chalky. I really like the way these blend so easily. Both the shades are shimmery but the shimmers never look OTT. They look beautiful on the eyes and give a pearly and metallic finish. But the shadows fall a little during application. This happens only when I apply the shadows dry. These eyeshadows by Essence don’t transfer and never settle into the fine lines. But, these are not waterproof; after a few hours, the color looks faded from the corners of my eyes.
Staying Power:
These eye shadows have an average staying power without a primer. They stay perfectly for around 4-5 hours and after that they look faded on my oily lids. They start to crease also if I do not apply any primer. But, with a primer, they stay for around 6 hours. I have super oily and sweaty skin, so my makeup looks a little messy at the corners. But these shimmers never create any mess. Also, as this shade doesn’t have any glitters, removing them is quite easy.
Overall:
This is the most wearable variant in this range. It looks very natural on the eyes and gives a perfect application. I am especially happy with the chocolate shade. I feel that this duo gives the best results when applied with finger rather than a brush. Use brush only to blend these shadows and not for packing these on.
