Essence 15 Coral Mousse The Matt XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss Review

Hello peeps,

One exciting thing just happened in my life! I visited a beauty store near my house and I saw the Essence counter standing right in front of me. I became super happy looking at it because I do like this brand a lot. And I am even happier because I can pick these products whenever I want. So as of now, I got a new lip gloss from “The Matt” lipgloss range. Let’s hop on to the review.

My Experience with Essence 15 Coral Mousse The Matt XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss:

The Essence lip gloss comes in a sleek bottle with a black cap. The see-through packaging makes it convenient for us to pick up the shade we want, if we have some of these. It comes at a very affordable price and there are a lot of shades available to pick. It has neutrals and bold shades as well. The wand is perfectly designed and I love how convenient it is to apply the gloss. It falls perfectly on my lips and outlines my lips very well making the lips shape look perfect.

The shade I picked up is “Coral Mousse”. It is a very fresh, summery coral shade with peachy hints. It makes the lips look super cute and trendy. But this shade is certainly not for all skin-tones. Only fair skin-tone will be able to carry it beautifully. Also this is more suitable for women with pink undertones, and not with yellow undertones. It is a day-time shade which will totally complement cute floral dresses during summer.

What I loved about this lip gloss is the scent – it smells like a delicious butterscotch mousse which I might just end up eating, and I did when there were just traces of this on my lips. The texture is buttery smooth and glides very nicely on my lips. The pigmentation is great, but application is very patchy and uneven. It does not get applied evenly no matter how many coats I apply. It does not get applied to some portions on my lips which looks awful. Also more colour gets settled down on the outline of my lips and in the corners.

The formula doesn’t look matte, it looks semi matte with a sheen. It stays on my lips for 3-4 hours without any meals, and the moment I eat something the colour gets ripped off from the centre portion of my lips. After the colour comes off, some of the colour clings to the chapped portions which looks very awful. Overall I don’t think it is really worth it to pick this up because there is better stuff available.

Pros of Essence 15 Coral Mousse The Matt XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss:

• Cute, handy and see-through packaging
• Affordable, and available in stores and online
• The colour is pigmented and exactly like the way it looks in the bottle
• The application is easy and the wand is perfectly designed
• The texture is super smooth and gets applied nicely
• A very fresh coral colour which is super summery
• The butterscotch mousse scent is very much evident, and it does taste that way too

Cons of Essence 15 Coral Mousse The Matt XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss:

• Gets applied in a very patchy manner
• The texture is semi matte with a sheen, not fully matte
• The moment I eat, all the lip gloss comes off from the centre portion of the lips
• The colour won’t complement medium to dusky skin tones
• After it gets off the centre portion, it clings to dry patches making it look awful
• Stays for just 2 hours

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Essence 15 Coral Mousse The Matt XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss?
No I wouldn’t! The other shades such as Silky Red can be tried, but not this one as the texture is weird. The shade isn’t a very versatile either. I am not going to try any of these “matt” lip-glosses now.

IMBB Rating:
3/5

Conclusion:
A lot of companies claim to give a “matte” look via lip glosses which actually doesn’t happen with drugstore brands. So if you are hunting for a matte lip crème, then high-end brands have amazing ones to offer.
