Essence Glossy Lipbalm Raspberry Sorbet Review

Today I’ll be reviewing a new glossy lip balm from Essence. These are so cute, you can’t just see them and not buy them. I spotted this one at my regular beauty supply store and the name got to me. I picked it up and before I knew it, the product was paid and mine! Lets see how it fares! 🙂

Sweet lips: the pampering, light formula of the glossy lipbalms in fresh colors give your lips a gorgeous shine and it has a delicious fragrance, too! Fruits are mixed with sweet delicacies to create fabulous flavors.

My Experience on Essence Glossy Lipbalm Raspberry Sorbet:

Packaging: These cuties come in inverted tube packaging, which is colour coded yet transparent. The front shows the shade name and the fruit name to indicate the flavour of the glossy lip balm. The packaging is very cute and girly. It can be easily located in your lipstick stash. The cap fits perfectly too. The slant tip makes application even and easy. Overall, it is super cute and can be thrown in your purse without the tension of leakage or spillage of the gloss.

Colour/Pigmentation: True to it’s name it is very glossy. The colour is a soft pink shade with a lot of very fine shimmer. On the lips it adds a tiny hint of healthy pink to the lips, with sheen and shimmer. It cannot be layered or can’t be built up because it’s so glossy. It will bleed if done so. This glossy lip balm if applied directly on bare lips, might not look good on medium to dark skinned beauties. But, if applied on top of pink lipstick, your lips will look so amazing! I couldn’t take my eyes off my lips when I applied it that way! The glossy balm makes lips look a million times better and they look as if they are straight out of some beauty magazine! I prefer using it that way.

Texture: The shimmer is so finely milled that you cannot feel it. The glossy balm is very light in texture, and very smooth. It is slightly on the runnier side, so you have to be careful to not apply too much. The slant applicator helps to evenly spread out the glossy balm.

Staying Power: Here comes the major con of this cutie! It just doesn’t seem to stay on my lips! It hardly stays for 45 minutes, that too without eating/drinking/talking. Half way to my college, and the product is gone! Reapplication is needed every half an hour to 45 minutes. This is the only disappointment! :/

Smell/Taste: It has a sweet smell to it, which lingers for about 5 minutes post application. It also has a sweet taste to it.

• Super cute and girly packaging.
• Very affordable.
• So many shades to choose from.
• Provides moisture.
• Good texture.
• If applied over pink lipstick, it looks super good!
• Easily available in beauty stores.
• Provides a very subtle hint of pink to the lips.
• Provides a nice sheen to the lips.

Cons of Essence Glossy Lipbalm Raspberry Sorbet:

• Won’t suit medium to dark skinned beauties if applied on bare lips.
• Very low staying power.

It’s worth a try! I won’t repurchase the same one, as there are so many other variants available. If you buy this, then do try using it over pink lipstick! 🙂
