Essence Lipstick: Cutie Mac Cute (60)

Essence Lipstick: Cutie Mac Cute (60)

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Today I will be writing about a lipstick from Essence. This is my first lipstick from this brand. Before trying their lipsticks, I have tried their single Eye Shadows and Lip Glosses and I kind of liked them. I really wanted to try their lipsticks too, as they seem good and they are affordable too.

Product Quantity: 4g.

Price: Rs 249.

Packaging: These lipsticks come in a coloured packaging with a small transparent section in the middle. The colour of the packaging is similar to the actual colour of the lipstick and the transparent section makes the actual colour even more clear. I liked the fact that they are colour coordinated, but the actual packaging itself is quite clumsy and prone to breakage.

Ingredients: A long-long list of ingredients can be found on the ulta website, but no ingredients are mentioned on the lipstick.

Product Description: Essence Lipstick has a smooth texture and extra glossy shine. The modern and personalized colour-matched packaging makes finding your favorite as easy as 1-2-3!

My Take on Essence Lipstick: Cutie Mac Cute (60):

Colour: Cutie Mac Cute is a frosty shade of pink with lavender undertones. The shade seems to have minute sized silver shimmer particles when seen in the packaging, but when actually applied no shimmers are seen. It gives a frosty finish pink colour on lips. Personally I am not a great fan of frosty colours but I liked this particular one. I found myself using it more often than the other frosty lipsticks in my collection. It is not the best shade for everyday use, but can easily be used for getting a cute pinky look. The colour would not suit every skin tone and it doesn’t even suit me perfectly, but I somehow manage to use it.

Pigmentation: This lipstick is decently pigmented, it is not too great but it’s not too bad either. 2-3 swipes are required to get a decent amount of colour and applying more than this can make you look really weird.

Texture: This is the biggest plus point of the lipstick, the lipstick is absolutely smooth to apply. It is so buttery that it almost glides on its own. Though this sometimes makes it difficult to keep the colour under control, if applied carefully, it’s not a big problem. The lipstick helps in moisturising my lips but once it is gone, my lips would need to be moisturised again.

Staying power: Staying power of the colour is not too great; it just stays for about 2-3 hours, after which it might completely vanish leaving the lips with no colour.

Fragrance: Whenever I open the lipstick, a strong fragrance is felt which sometimes seems to be fruity and pleasing, but sometimes it seems to be very artificial and plastic like. This does not interfere much with the use of the lipstick, as once applied onto the lips, the fragrance goes off.
Overall for me this is an average product with some good and some bad aspects, but is not so bad in this price range.

Would I Buy Essence Lipstick: Cutie Mac Cute (60) again?

I do like the formula, but I don’t think that I’ll be able to use it as much as to buy another lipstick in the same colour.

Do I Recommend Essence Lipstick: Cutie Mac Cute (60)?

If you like frosty shades and you are someone with a fair skin tone; this is a good option to try.

Rating: 2.6/ 5.

    1. so true Neha……there is no connection between the color with its name….actually the name doesn’t even suit the color….the color is not cute at all …….

    1. thanks Nandini 🙂 this actually is too frosty and honestly saying it seems to be even more frosty in the pics than it actually is 🙂

    1. even i don’t like frosty shades…they actually wash me out too…..but i still felt this to be better than other frosty ones….at least it looks little better with a full foundation face 🙂
