Essence Match 2 Cover Cream Concealer Review

Concealer is every girl’s essential when it comes to makeup and no doubt it’s mine too. You could say that I have got an obsession with collecting concealers. Well, this Essence Match 2 Cover! Cream Concealer is the newest addition to my collection and this review is going to be all about it.

My Take on Essence Match 2 Cover Cream Concealer:

Whenever we get a concealer, we want it to have the ability to conceal our dark circles, pigmentation, redness and etc., but to find a concealer like that is truly a one in a million chance. However, in my last concealer review, I did mention how I use my concealers and this concealer works well for small blemishes, redness and under eye dark circles.

The concealer has a creamy texture as stated and is easy to spread on the skin, but you will need to blend like mad just to get it blended with your skin. It does settle in fine lines, but it doesn’t look goopy if you blend it well.  This concealer offers light to medium coverage, but if you try to build up the coverage, it ends up looking like a cakey nightmare. It doesn’t feel oily on the skin. It doesn’t dry out the skin nor does it clog the pores. It feels lightweight on the skin and doesn’t smudge after application.

The lighter shade on the right is ideal for your under eyes dark circles as you want to use a light shade to brighten the under eyes and cancel out the darkness. It does do a pretty good job in cancelling out the darkness under the eyes, but it doesn’t brighten the under eyes at all.  You will have to add a eye brightening product or highlighter under your eyes.

The dark shade conceals small blemishes well and redness too. And if you worry about it being not your shade, well you can throw them down the trash cause after blending, you won’t be able to even tell the difference in shade. However, this product doesn’t conceal pigmentation well and pimples either. It actually just makes your pimple more noticeable. However, if you use this product by itself, the product isn’t very long-lasting and it will fade through out the day. If you do want to use this and make it last, I suggest that you use a primer before foundation and set the product with a setting powder or pressed powder.

Packaging wise, I would have to say that it is really travel friendly because of it’s small, lightweight and slim size and it would be a perfect on-the-go or emergency concealer as it barely takes up any space in your makeup bag. The lid seems doesn’t seem like it will come off easily and stays on pretty well.

• Takes a lot of effort to blend into skin.
• Doesn’t brighten under eyes.
• Doesn’t conceal pigmentation or pimples.
• Makes pimples look obvious.
• Coverage cannot be built up.
• Not long-lasting.

Would I Repurchase Essence Match 2 Cover Cream Concealer?

I might purchase it again if I needed one during an emergency as it’s not really a product that has blown me away nor is it a product that I must have. It works well and is affordable, but I would rather try different concealers.
