Today’s review is about Essence Smokey 2 in 1 Khol Liner. I recently spotted this new product from Essence and was tempted to try it. Read on to know more about this product.

Multi-styler! the khôl liner unites two benefits in one product: it is as smooth and easy to apply as a khôl kajal, and at the same time as highly pigmented and accurate as eyeliner. the deep black texture is ideal for precise styles and intensive smokey eyes looks. thanks to the conic shape of the tip, there is no need to sharpen it.
Ingredients:
Ethylhexyl palmitate, hydrogenated castor oil, hydrogenated sunflower seed oil, polyethylene, cera microcristallina (microcrystalline wax), silica, octyldodecanol, candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax), synthetic wax, disteardimonium hectorite, propylene carbonate, ci 77499 (iron oxides).
My Experience with Essence Smokey 2 in 1 Khol Liner:
The product, as you can see in the pictures, is very catchy. It has cone shaped ends and the packaging is really good. I travelled with it for 3 weeks and the packaging is still intact. I used it almost every day and the whole product is sturdy. One end of the packaging has the kohl liner. It is also cone shaped, making it easy to apply. There is also a transparent protective cover which opens and closes easily. The packaging is great.
The product is marketed as a ‘multi-styler’. It can be used in multiple ways. It can be used as an eyeliner, kohl pencil or to create the smoky eyes effect. I have used it in all 3 ways, that too in the Indian weather. Here are the results. I used it as kohl to line my waterline and it turned out to be a disaster. I will never use it to line my waterline again. It bled badly and my under eye area looked dark within a few hours.
So the next day I used it to line my eyes. I tried to create a winged eyeliner look and I didn’t get the best results. So, I used a brush, smoked out the product and went for a smokey eye look. It looked great and also lasted the entire day of shopping and meeting friends. Yes, it did crease after a few hours, but I rubbed it off with my ring finger and I was ready to go. Also, I did not notice any bleeding. It stayed put on my upper lids.
So for the next 2 to 3 days, I tried the winged liner look but ended up with smokey eyes. But after a little practice, I could create a perfect winged eyeliner look with this product. Yes, the winged eyeliner was not thin but it looked good. I could correct the liner just by using a q-tip. Since the product is not waterproof it’s easy to work with and also to remove.
But I had to make sure not to touch my eyes or rub them to avoid disaster. I used the product to create the smokey eyes or winged liner look almost every day for 3 weeks in India during my vacation. The best part is that it takes me a minute to create the winged liner with this product. But with liquid liner, I need 2 minutes per eye. The product did not cause any kind of irritation to my eyes. Overall, it’s a great product for the price. I would definitely recommend it to beginners.

I was not expecting such good results. It comes in really handy whenever I am in a rush. I will surely repurchase.
