Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion Review

by Samrita N.

After much back and forth debate I’m (finally) nervously writing my first review! I have looked to IMBB to review so many products over the last few months and all you have definitely helped me with my beauty buys so I hope I can help do the same for you!

Etude House is a popular Korean cosmetics company with hundreds of stores in Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Brunei and Myanmar. They make makeup, skincare and other body products and today I am reviewing an emulsion from their skincare line.

Etude House Collagen Emulsion

Their Moistfull Collagen line has a cream, first essence, facial freshner, mask sheets, eye cream and an emulsion. After exposing my combination skin to hot, humid weather plus constant air conditioner drying it out, my skin was parched! I needed to pamper my skin to make it feel supple and bouncy, but on a budget. I was going to buy the cream from this line but it was always out of stock so I went for the emulsion.

Price:

SGD 19.20 (Approximately Rs 880) for 150 ml.

Claims:

Moistfull Collagen line- Formulated with baobab tree extract and collagen, this hydrating and firming skin care line deeply moisturises and firms for water bouncy skin.

Moistfull Collagen Emulsion-“ Moisturising collagen lotion to bring firmness like a baby face”
“The milky moisturizing and firming lotion hydrates and firms skin.”

The Baobab tree is found in African deserts and it holds tonnes of water at a time, so it is known for its ability to keep itself ‘hydrated’ therefore its extract possesses very good moisture retention properties.

The collagen used in this emulsion is the hydrolysed kind, which means it’s from the sea (South Pacific Ocean if we’re being exact) and this type of collagen helps strengthen the structure of your skin i.e. firming it.

My Experience with Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion:

This emulsion has been a part of my night time skincare routine for over 2 months now (and I’m less than 1/3rd of the way through!), so I can genuinely tell you all the good things about it! Initially I had wanted the cream from this line (and trust me it is a total HOT SELLER. I could never find it in store and some stores didn’t even have the testers for it!), but due to its unavailability I bought this. After my purchase a friend told me that she was unable to keep any makeup on her face after applying the cream, because it was uber hydrating and didn’t absorb into her skin for hours, so she can now only use that at night. Basically it made her makeup slip off. I have never had any such problems with this emulsion. The emulsion is a watered down version of the cream from this line, but the good thing is the strength of the active ingredients is the same in both so this is a real steal.

Etude House Collagen Emulsion

You need very little of this emulsion, it’s neither thick nor too runny so I can’t complain about no pump, but 2-3 drops are plenty for my face, neck and décolletage area. I have worn makeup over this in the day time as well without any issues, but I love to take all that makeup off and put this on at night before bed. I seriously wake up with my cheeks feeling like a baby’s bottom. Remember my demands of supple skin? Well it’s well met with this emulsion!

Etude House Collagen Emulsion

This product is packaged in a glass bottle with a plastic top that screws open easily, so it could break or leak during travel. It however goes on very smooth (white to transparent), dries within a minute to give me soft, hydrated, just overall dewy skin. And smells good too, it doesn’t have any peculiar smells and no over powering fragrances. I am also quite sensitive to harsh ingredients, I break out very easily but this has given me no problems. On the back in Braille it spells ‘LOSN’. I think this is a really clever feature by Etude House to make them appeal to people from all walks of life, including the visually disabled.

Etude House Collagen Emulsion

Pros of Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion:

  • Can be used by people with all skin types be it dry, sensitive, oily or combination.
  • These guys are really serious about the two L’s in ‘Moistfull’. You’ll be left with hydrated, lithe skin, grease free!

Cons of Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion:

  • Contains Alcohol (But this has not dried out my skin in any way).
  • The (so far sturdy) glass packaging means you have to be careful not to drop the bottle and transfer product to a travel container for use on holiday.

Would I repurchase/recommend Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion?

Yes I would absolutely repurchase this! I also recommend this emulsion for everyone! Etude House will also give you a sample size of this product (but purchasing something from their store is necessary for samples).
