Fabindia Avocado Body Butter Review

Hello sweeties,

Since winters are in full swing here in Delhi, my skin has become dry, itchy and flaky too.  I am always on the search for products which can keep my skin hydrated. This time with the onset of winters, I thought of giving body butters a try and for this purpose I bought Fab India body butters. I have bought Fab India Avocado body butter because avocados and shea butter are known to be good moisturisers and secondly, because this one has not been reviewed too. So, read on to know why I love this body butter:

Product Description:

The emollient properties of this hydrating blend of oils and shea butter leaves skin healthy and supple.

Packaging:

The product comes in a plastic tub which is lightweight and easy to carry. We have to dip our fingers to take the product.

Price:

INR 250 for 100 ml.

Ingredients:

Purified water, isopropyl palmitate, petroleum jelly, glycerine, glyceryl monostearate, coconut oil, cetyl alcohol, shea butter, fragrance, carbopol94, methyl paraben, allantoin, avocado oil, propyl paraben, vitamin E acetate.

Texture:

Since its a body butter, the texture is on the heavier side and not as easy to spread as a body lotion, but my skin, as it is very dry in winters, absorbs this body lotion quickly, hence no greasy feeling and greasy hands.

Fragrance:

It has a very pleasant and fresh cucumber scent which has a little bit of sweetness to it. The fragrance is mild and fades within two hours of application.

Method of Use:

Apply liberally and massage gently onto the skin as often as required.

My Take on Fabindia Avocado Body Butter:

Well, I am in love with these body butters.  I have never used body butters before though I have used lots of body lotions, but I am glad I bought this one. It keeps my skin moisturized and my skin absorbs it quickly. It is very budget friendly too. The fragrance of this body butter is light and fresh, fades after some time and not that strong to alter the fragrance of my perfume. The best thing that I like about this body butter is that it contains petroleum jelly, glycerin, coconut oil, avocado oil and shea butter, and all of them are known for their benefits on dry skin and their moisturizing properties.

This body butter is not heavy to carry around, which makes it travel friendly.  I think all those with dry skin are going to love this body butter like me, but it may not be suitable for oily skinned ones as it contains natural oils which would make it greasy for them.  I use this lotion on my legs before going to bed as my legs are extremely dry and flaky during winters; it looks as if I have got dandruff on my legs, they become that dry if I don’t care, but since I am using this body butter, my legs stay smooth and moisturized till next morning.  It takes care of all the flakiness and itchiness caused by harsh winter winds. Not only does it moisturize my legs, it also smooths out other dry areas like my elbows and knees.  Although, it is a good body butter for dry skin, it may still have some cons.

So, let’s sum up the pros and cons now:

Pros of Fabindia Avocado Body Butter:

• This body butter is reasonably priced.
• Smells nice and the fragrance will not bother anybody.
• The packaging is light and sturdy which makes it travel friendly.
• It contains natural oils and moisturizers, which are known for their benefits.
• It easily gets absorbed into the skin.
• Fab India is against animal testing.

Cons of Fabindia Avocado Body Butter:

• The major con I think is the presence of parabens in this body butter.
• Since the body butter is packed in a tub, we would have to dip our fingers because of which there is a likelihood of the product getting contaminated.

Do I Recommend Fabindia Avocado Body Butter?

Yes, I do recommend it to dry and normal skin people, but not to oily skinned ones, as it can be a bit greasy for them.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5 because it may not suit all skin types and secondly it contains parabens.
