Fabindia Silk Protein Shampoo Review

Fab India Silk Protein Shampoo

Hello IMBB!!!

I have used many Fab India products ranging from face packs to scrubs, from under eye gel to gel scrubs and soaps recently. The products which I have never used were hair care products. I recently came to know that Fab India has launched a new range of personal care products called as Silk Protein Range. I made up my mind to pick up at least one hair care product from the store as everyone talks a lot about their shampoos a lot. My sister uses their Avocado shampoo religiously so I thought of picking that only. But when I saw this newly launched range I decided to take this one rather that the Avocado Shampoo. The product which I picked was Fab India Silk Protein Shampoo and I am reviewing the same here.

What the company claims about the product?
A nourishing shampoo especially formulated for dry hair. Enriched with Sericin, a silk protein, it helps restore moisture and strengthen protein bonds in the hair.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, CAPB, Glycol Distearate, Sodium Chloride, Glycerine, Fragrance, Panthenol, Polyquaternium 10, Silk Protein, Methylchloroisothiazolinone.

Packaging: The shampoo comes in a white translucent bottle with a screw cap having a press/open type of nozzle for taking out the shampoo. Quite convenient to use and you can very well control the amount of shampoo you want. Travel friendly as no-leakage and spillage chances are there. You can see the amount of product left inside the bottle by just placing it in front of light source.

My experience with the product:

The shampoo is a cream based silky white colored liquid of medium consistency, nor too thick neither too runny. It has some typical creamy fragrance which is not bothersome, just ok. I think they have the same fragrance for the entire Silk Protein range as I checked the testers for every product available from this range at the store. This shampoo is specially formulated for dry hair so I picked it up for the days when I have to shampoo without oiling my hair in emergency cases. But for trial purposes or you can say to check the efficiency I used it on my heavily oiled hair too. Actually that was the first time I used it. To be very frank I literally dip my hair in oil while massaging. I thought that I will have to use generous amount for shampooing but I was wrong. My oil was gone just the way I shampoo with my normal routine shampoo. I felt that it made my hair dry after washing but once I dried my hair there was no dryness but there was no softness either. There is no conditioning part associated with this shampoo in spite of being formulated for dry hair. I normally wrap my hair in a cotton towel for drying. When I did the same after washing with this shampoo my hair became hard and tight. Ufffffโ€ฆ. Now I wonder how my hair would have been if I would have washed them without oiling. My hairs were looking like I have washed them 2-3 days back. I usually have just a few strands of hair on my drain filter after washing my hair but this time they were more in number. This totally made me think that whether I should use this in future or not. I finally decided that no I will not use this anymore as I just canโ€™t experiment more with my pretty good hair.

This was the first and last time is used this shampoo.

Pros of the shampoo:

  • Fragrance is good and does not linger you for long
  • Removes oil effectively

Cons of the shampoo:

  • Everything else is a con. No good things associated with this shampoo.

Finally I would not at all recommend this shampoo to people who have dry or normal hair like me. I think still there are chances for people with oily scalp. But do use it on your own risk. The first experience ever with a hair care product from the house of Fab

India failed miserably for me. Now I repent for not picking up the Avocado Shampoo.
