Faces 06 Addicted Glam On Color Perfect Lipstick Review

Glam On Color Perfect Lipstick – so, apparently, this is the latest range of lipsticks by Faces, or may be it’s just an eyewash. I don’t know why but there are a lot of brands that I dislike for no legit reason, and Faces is one of them. But, after reading a few recent reviews on its lipsticks, I decided to give it a try. I had entered their store with an intention to buy at least three shades, but I ended up liking only one shade. So, let’s get started with it!

Claims:
• Luxurious rich color with one stroke application
• Satiny finish that lasts for hours
• Ultra soft texture with softening and moisturising benefits
• Paraben free and dermatologically tested

Price:
INR 541 for 3.5 grams

My Experience with Faces 06 Addicted Glam On Color Perfect Lipstick:

Packaging:
Just wait a second and admire that packaging! Who would not fall in love with this gold, black and transparent combo? This comes in an outer black colored packaging which has all the details written on it. Including the fact that how overpriced this is! The twist up mechanism works well. Good packaging! The shade name and number at mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick on color coded sticker.

 

Shade/Pigmentation:
The shade Addicted is just beautiful. I always feel that red, be it orangish red, coral red or proper wala red make my face look mature. But, not this one. I swatched all the shades available and liked this one the most, or probably this is the only shade from this range which I liked. It’s just a gorgeous orangish red that flatters my fair-medium skin tone really well. I guess it should look good on most skin tones. It brightens up my face and enhances my skintone too. Under sunlight and artificial light both, it looks very beautiful. Also, this shade is apt for every age group.

I love the pigmentation of this lipstick too. With one swipe it gives great coverage to my lips and second swipe is required only to even out the finish and to build color further (if you desire that).

The shade and packaging are the only winners here! And, things start to get downhill from here.

Finish:
I am a fan of matte lip colors (I am being 100% honest with my review), but I wanted to try something new too. And, that’s why I opted for this lipstick that has satin finish. The glossy, satiny finish complements the shade and makes it look more graceful.

Texture/Consistency:
Imagine an extra creamy lipstick in mid summer in Delhi! Yes girls, it’s melting. But, that’s not entirely the lipstick’s mistake. I had to keep it in the refrigerator after coming home to make it useable. It’s very creamy and rich and it bleeds! It transfers out of the lip line and creates an ugly sight. 🙁

The creaminess makes the application super easy – no tugging or pulling. I didn’t have dry lips until I started use this. It’s getting all over the packaging too now. I kept it on for few hours and it made my lips dry and somewhat chapped. Now, even my matte lipsticks don’t do that top my lips. Imagine!

Staying Power:
Staying power! What staying power? You could quickly apply it before getting a picture clicked, but don’t think of wearing it outside, at least not in summers. Otherwise, you’ll require frequent reapplications. And, for dates – it’s a big no!

Conclusion:
My first Faces lipstick might just be my last lipstick by Faces. It was all fun and games until I what it did to my lips and I saw how it bleeds. Thankfully, I was at home when I tested it. Not impressed at all. Maybelline and Colorbar could give same finish and shade but with better consistency and texture. Thankfully, it has no taste or smell.

• Other brands can offer better quality
• Fades unevenly
• Transfers everywhere

Would I Repurchase Faces 06 Addicted Glam On Color Perfect Lipstick?
It does not fulfil only one of its claims, that is ‘Satiny finish that lasts for hours’ – but that’s an important factor when it comes to lipsticks. So, I am disappointed. I won’t buy this or any other lipstick from this range.

Would I Recommend Faces 06 Addicted Glam On Color Perfect Lipstick?
If you don’t mind the fact that it bleeds, makes them (almost) chapped in no time and stays not even for two hours with light snacking, go for it! 😛
