Faces Canada Go Chic #10 Mauve Lip Gloss Review

I will be reviewing a lip gloss from Faces Canada that I bought along with a lipstick in Wicked that I reviewed earlier. I really liked the Wicked lipstick, texture-wise and also, because it is decently priced. Now, I got the shade mauve, read on to know how it fared.

My Experience With Faces Canada Go Chic Mauve 10 Lip Gloss:

Packaging: The gloss comes in a transparent tube with a wand whose handle is black in color. The gloss tube comes housed in a carton, which I like. The ingredients and other details are given on the carton. The gloss is easy to carry around in purses for touch ups. The applicator is a conventional doe-foot one.

Shade: Mauve is not actually a pretty mauve that you’d expect it to appear as. It is a dirty mauve, with silver shimmer in it. Thank god it is not much pigmented or else it’d go straight into the garbage. It makes my lips look like I am a chain smoker! 😀 Ghastly in other words. But it can be worn over bright lipsticks I suppose; I haven’t tried that yet though. It does appear to be pretty in the lip swatch; it sure is deceiving, but the hand swatch tells a different story.

Texture and Pigmentation: The texture feels somewhat heavy, but anyhow most glosses have the same issue. It is not sticky though. I’d suggest only a coat of this or else you wouldn’t want to step out of the house. Pigmentation is not that great, but I am grateful it isn’t pigmented! I gave this a shot as I do not have much mauve in my collection, only to end up disappointed.

Lasting Power: It lasts around 2+ hours with light snacking. If you have a heavy meal, then it’s all gone. It fades unevenly, leaving the shimmers behind which looks ghastlier! This shade would be a skip. There are other good shades in this range, easy on the pocket too.

Pros Of Faces Canada Go Chic Mauve 10 Lip Gloss:

• Convenient, simple packaging.
• Doe-foot wand is easy to use.
• Does not feel sticky on lips.
• Did not dry out my lips.
• It is not pigmented enough!! Thank god.
• Decently priced.

Cons of Faces Canada Go Chic Mauve 10 Lip Gloss:

• Contains parabens.
• Not a very flattering shade. Makes my lips look like I smoke :-/
• Fades unevenly leaving behind shimmers.
• Does feel somewhat heavy on lips.
• Transfers.
