Faces Mineral Lip Color Star Raisin Review

I am elated to share another lippy shade with you that is sure to win your heart at first sight. We all can never have enough of nude shades in lippies, for office, grocery shopping or a social gathering indoors and I can never have enough lipsticks 😛 I have even been thinking of buying another mini fridge to store nail colors and lippies 😛 for everyone who is curious about how many lippies I have. But the best part is I can filter out the good and bad for you ladies so that you have to straightway get the particular shade you like out of the shades I review.Isn’t it marvellous now?

This shade in star raisin is my first from the Faces mineral line. I have already reviewed some amazing shades in Moisture Rich like first lady and pink wine, jazz berry jam and berry brown from the satin matte range, all bought on my friends’ recommendations. Now again this one was an impulse buy from inorbit mall in Hyderabad when we had gone there and I passed the stand alone faces store they have there.

This mineral line claims to :
Spread evenly for a luminous sating smooth finish
Special creamy formulation with high performance polymers
Enriched with vitamin E
Dermatologic ally tested
Price is 399 Rupees

Now this particular shade is very pretty soft peachy brown. I would still call it brown because in two swipes it starts to look more brown than peachy but very soft indeed. This one doesn’t have those strong brown tones but rather feels light and peachy.There is no shimmer or frost but plain soft brown cream finish, no gloss or moisture finish.

The texture is more like those streetwear satin smooth range where they feel hard and will need to swipe more than once , thought we expect them to be buttery. Now this particular shade is in mineral range and I don’t know whether it has something to do with that . It is very tightly packed in the tube, like it won’t bend but you get a solid color there. It is just enough to swipe and the pigmentation is right too.

The lipstick is soft but not creamy or buttery I must say. Its totally unlike the satin amtte range which Is my first choice from the faces line. The finish is rather matte or soft cream finish but still it doesn’t feel dry or cakey but you can see a layer of color on the lips in that it is not sheer.

Swatches:

Some things I did not like about this lipstick is that I feels a little heavy. It is not a light wear lippy and it might get a teeny bit dry on my lips after sometime . Nevertheless, it stays for about three hours, transfers easily and fades evenly.

Last word:
For 399, I would still choose the satin matte range which is more buttery. This one is a little hard to swipe but the color is such a gorgeous soft peachy brown and the finish creamy, non drying for most of us. It can be an mlbb shade for many.If you like buttery lippies than chose satin matte but if you like lipsticks that are tightly packed in the tube and don’t bent or tilt and dent, then you may like these. Overall, I am very happy with everything about this lipstick. 🙂
