Highlighters have been the trend of the season and when it comes to summers, my skin gets all dull and pale. And what would be better than some swipes of highlighter on my face? I have always been into powder highlighters; hence these liquid ones were pretty new for you. I saw this one from Faces and was super tempted to try since their dazzling tints looked gorgeous. So let’s begin with the review.

My Experience with Faces Ultime Pro Metaliglow Champagne – 02:
Packaging: The highlighter comes in a black cardboard box which is the signature style of Faces. You see all the details about the product over the box. It is priced for 799 which is pretty fine I think since most of the drugstore highlighters fall in that price category. The highlighter comes in a nice transparent bottle which is see-through so the 3 shades are very much noticeable. It has a pump nozzle which is the best part about it. The nozzle flushes out a little quantity which is perfect for highlighting my cheeks. Overall, flawless packaging which is very travel-friendly too!
Shade: The shade I picked up is “champagne” because Opal would make me look a bit like Casper and Topaz has brown hints that would give me a bronzey look and I absolutely hate the bronzy look; it doesn’t suit me anyway! And luckily, champagne proved to be the perfect shade for my skintone. It is a pale rose gold shade which looks absolutely pretty once layered on the face. It is a perfect shade for fair to medium skintones. It does not look over the top and looks very natural.
Consistency and finish: The consistency is more like the thick liquids but the gel presence makes it very smooth and creamy for application. It goes on smoothly on the skin but the flaw about the formula is that it dries pretty quickly so it has to be blended very quickly. And if at all, a little more than needed gets applied then there is no option other than washing the face. It cannot be flaked off a little like the powder highlighter. Because it dries very quickly, it might accentuate the dry areas of the face, so proper moisturisation is needed before. Other than that, it gives a very natural finish which does not look cakey or made up at all. The microshimmers look extremely natural on the face and give a nice, subtle glow which is good for daily wear too. It makes my skin look healthier in just a few minutes. Very happy with the results that it gave!
Staying power: The staying power of this highlighter is just incredible! It stays for 6-7 hours on my moderately oily face and does not oxidise. It stays as it is and does not smudge or budge from its place. I thought it might just melt a little during summers since it comes in a liquid form but I was wrong; it stayed as it is. Totally impressed with the staying power! The removal is also quite easy; just swipe the make-up remover and it will go without leaving shimmers on the face.

Cons of Faces Ultime Pro Metaliglow Champagne – 02:
• Have to layer it to make it very noticeable in natural daylight.
• Dries very quickly and once applied can’t be removed off without washing the face.
• A little difficult to blend since it has to be done very quickly.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Faces Ultime Pro Metaliglow Champagne – 02?
Yes I do recommend this if you are looking for a good highlighter because this stays for long hours. I wouldn’t get it again because I think this bottle would work out for a few years from now since I won’t be using this everyday!
Conclusion: I really like these new launches from Faces, but I would anytime love powdered highlighters over these since if at all they look over the top, I can flake off a little with a brush.
