Faces Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder Review

Hi girls,

This Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder is a recent makeup product from Faces Cosmetics. They have launched four shades of corresponding powder and foundation. While I have found the price point to be insane, I decided to check out the pressed powder. Take a look by what Faces means by “second skin” in the review below:

My Experience with Faces Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder:

I have picked this pressed powder in the shade “Natural.” This is the second shade out of the four that’s available; “Ivory” would have been lighter for my skin tone. I would say this is good for NC 35 to 40. For me, this matches my complexion, but does not make me look a tone lighter or cakey or fairer. This is the beauty of the product. The powder does not feel satiny at all. It is a very matte powder but it’s not thick. It is not chalky for a compact and the finish can be called sheer. If dusted lightly, this would work like a sheer finish powder. The texture is not grainy. It is not super smooth either. The coverage is sheer to medium.

This pressed powder instantly mattifies my skin. It mattifies the look of pores, but does not really fill or conceal them whatsoever. So yes, this provides very light coverage. It does not look made up or cakey or chalky even when layered. This matched me and skin looks smooth and matte.

This pressed powder keeps my skin matte for 2-3 hours after which I can see some shine to my skin. I also have a feeling that this darkens and oxidizes on me, considering which I should have picked up a shade lighter. It keeps foundation matte and can be used to set it too, but after three hours, have a check on the oil factor if you have oily skin.

I like the packaging with two shiny mirrors and a puff too. It is kind of “plastic-ky” and I don’t think it is worth the cost of 899 rupees. The powder gets slightly grainy when I rub it too much. I have used it with a puff and a flat-topped brush also. I like to pat it to the skin to keep it matte.

Pros of Faces Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder:

  • Comes with a mirror and puff.
  • Matte, not chalky.
  • Keeps shine at bay for three hours.
  • Can set foundation lightly.
  • Not too powdery.
  • Four shades, apt for Indian skin tones.

Cons of Faces Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder:

  • On my oily skin, I can see shine after 2.5 hours when I wear this alone.
  • It oxidizes in an hour.
  • More shades should have been launched.
  • Too sheer for pore coverage or pigmented skin.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Faces Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder?
Not really, at this cost, many other powders can do the same job. Yes, this feels light and like second skin, but so do many other compacts.
