Maybelline watershine pure RB21……goes on a bit sheer but u can always build up the color……its a nice classy red & work appropriate too :-)

i like revlon spice red.. its not muted, and is super pigmented..but use it as a stain.. i think it is perfect for indian skin tones

get any red that suits yourkin tone.. any shade can be used as a stain for it to look muted :))

I don’t have one yet. 😐
And now to wait for the IMBB ladies to comment. :shying: I’ll note down the suggestions then. :dumb:

I’ve also recently discovered a great love for red lipsticks and I’m in search of my perfect red.
Sme of my favourites so far are
Maybelline colorsensation Pleasure me red: a dark blue based red
Inglot fat lip pencil in no21: the perfect neutral red
NYX snow white:blue based red, very creamy
NYX black cherry: a deeper goth red
Revlon lipgloss in Fire: a bright neutral red opaque gloss
Maybelline gloss in cranberry cocktail: a rust red with subtle shimmer
NYX soft matte lip cream in Monte Carlo: a dark matte blue based red

All these are pigmented but can be worn as stains. I would recommend any of the glosses to start with since they can be sheered out and won’t look as bright as a full on lipstick

rima you can also buy a bright red lipstick and dab dab it on your lips. that would give that muted red lip look. :))

Try a warm toned red with pink/rose undertones….they usually don’t look in-your-face red. I have one that I would use during college to add some colour to the face…it looked quite natural. Hope this helps :)) :)) :)) :))

I own only one and I bought it coz I loved it (not a red lip girl). It is MAC Viva Glam 1. Really nice red!

Arya November 14, 2011 at 8:22 pm

MAC RUSSIAN RED :woot: :woot: :woot: though not so muted it looks gorgeous on any skin tone and it’s blue based so it makes my teeth look whiter :yahoo: :yahoo:

supriya November 14, 2011 at 8:39 pm

btw lakme has a shade called watermelon, it is difficult to describe, but it is a bit of coral and a bit of red, and u dont need to put in an effort into making it a stain, the colour is muted enough..
