Festive Makeup Look Tutorial

Hi Everyone, :),

I haven’t done a makeup look in a while. Since it’s festive season already, I thought I’d put up one easy and quick day times festive makeup look for you all. Hope you like it. 🙂

Step 1 : I always start by moisturising my face and lips. So by the time I start using the makeup, my skin is supple and smooth. I am using Lotus Lip Therapy in Velvety Rose. Since it is a day time look, I am going with a tinted moisturiser. This one is Lotus Nutraglow. It gives a light dewy finish to the skin. Full review HERE

Step 2 : If you want to use the tinted moisturiser sheerly, apply using a stippling brush. Or else, this is pretty good to apply with finger tips as well.

Step 3 : Applying TM. And prepping my eyelids for eye makeup using MAC paint.

Step 4 : After applying eyeshadow primer, I always apply a wash of MAC Soft Brown eyeshadow all over the lid. This also warms up the lids.

Step 5 : Use fluffy brush for a flawless sheer finish all over the lid. I am using a shimmery cream shadow , which gives a metallic finish to the lids. But you may use any shimmery powder eyeshadow as well. The color is silvery taupe.

Step 6 : Apply the cream eyeshadow all over the lid and blend it with finger tips.

Step 7 : Using a deep dark matte purple eyeshadow (MAC Shadowy Lady), apply it in the crease. Also focus on the outer corners by swirling the brush just on the ends of the lids.

Step 8 : Blend, blend, blend.

Step 9 : Take a shimmery pale gold eyeshadow and apply it on your brow bone.

Step 10 : Also apply the pale gold eyeshadow as a highlighter for inner corners. Apply the matte purple eyeshadow on the outer lower lash line. festive-makeup-look-10Step 11 : Now line your upper lash line with a black gel eyeliner.

Step 12 : Apply eye kohl on your waterline. I am using one of my ever favourite Lotus Kajal.

Step 13: Now using a pencil brush, smudge the kajal softly. Apply mascara.

Step 14 : I apply concealer and powder after finishing off my eye makeup. Just in case there are any fall outs of the eyeshadow.

Step 15 : I want to keep the dewiness from the tinted moisturiser so I applied powder only on my T Zone. I am using a shimmery peach blush ( MAC Style)

Step 16 : I wanted very muted peach lips. So applied the ‘Lotus Herbals My Peach’ lipstick with finger tips. I have worn it HERE as well.  And you are done! 🙂

  7. You look pretty here, Rati 🙂 Happy Dussehra to you!!! 😀
I love the blue stripey nails as well.
One question though – I noticed you apply kohl without pulling your eye lids down. Which I’ve been trying to master, because I don’t want to make worse any wrinkles that will be landing there in the future, but I somehow cannot apply it on my waterline unless I pull my lower eyelid down. Any ideas?

  8. Hey this is such a neat and easy way and yet so effective. Looks really nice.

I have to still learn how to put my eyeliner well. I love eye pencils, liners 🙂 but mine just dosent stay. I have droopy eyelids so no matter how hard I try it always smudges especially my night time look is very messy (played dandiya recently and my blue eye pencil went haywire). Prepping the eyelids dosent help at all. Dont want to give up as yet cos i think lining the eyes make them so pretty
